      Tradeskill drops not dropping? Clearly this calls for an EMERGENCY PATCH!! hehe.

      Hope it's not too far off to patch this. Maybe if we send 'em some chocolates they'll do a small patch to fix this (and whatever else) sometime this month.

        At least these are droppable (err tradeable, sorry showing my age), so if it does not change, there can be some flow of the bricks and the manacles from the hgiher level groups downward. I know for the tradeskillers for whom this means a trip to the bazaar, that can be frustrating, but if this zone is used for XP camps, the market will be flooded with them (or they'll just rot... in which case an avid tradeskiller can simply hand out and ask to loot).

        It's not ideal, but it seems like it will be okay until (if) you change it.

          A level appropriate place for vergalid clay and vergalid slave manacles in my opinion would be from the goblin slaves, orcs and overseers in Sunderock Springs, right outside the entrace to the mine. At lvl 71 mobs outside of mine range from light blue to dark blue, similiar to mobs in Steppes. They may not be exact level range intended for the TS drops, but would be much closer than mob level in Vergalid Mines.

              One of teh other Devs posted in an EQLive thread that he thought there might be a patch next week. Hopefully, he was right!

                Thanks for the info Ngreth. Will look through Valdeholm for any tasks/quests that send me to The Steppes. Gonna be a pain because of faction though. Anyone find a way to raise Valdeholm faction yet? So far the tasks given by the giants in the little rooms right outside the city have not given faction, just exp.

                    Just wanted to say, Ngreth, that even when there is a problem with your work (and even if its caused by someone other than you), it's a delight to see your balance of "good for the game" vs. "responsive to players" is so well tuned. It's not like you give away the candy store to make us happy, but you are a straight-shooter and you make it so much easier to deal with a disappointment.

                    Yes, I wanted to have my Artisan's charm equipped by now and show it off to my guild. And yes, so I am sad i ahve to wait for a patch.

                    But your quick response, investigation, and sharing of information is a refreshing change from lots of other companies, and even within Sony, other devs.

                      The information that I have been reading is that the experience in Vergalid Mines is very poor. I fear that the risk versus reward in this zone will be such that nobody ever goes there. In that case, little if any, tradeskill drops from there will make it to the Bazaar.

                      p.s. I just noticed that the servers will be coming down Wednesday morning for a 5 hour patch. Hopefully things can be fixed with the drops.

                        Will have to wait until I get home and can run back to Valdehom to get the actual name of the tasks but if you want one to look at real quick then the task to:

                        kill 30 orcs in icefall
                        kill orc anmed sayrook
                        return sayrook's head

                        Gave just exp. No faction and no reward. The trigger phrase was "defense" and the text said the orcs were starting to worship the shades in frostcrypt and needed to be dealt with before they became a problem.

                        Another task that I was told gave no faction was to scout 4 locations in Frostcrypt. I have not completed that one yet so I cannot confirm that it has no faction. Will try to get more information for you when I get home.

                            Ok, the orc task is called "Orcish Dissention" and is given out by out by Wraithgaurd Warden Hrosigar. No faction, no reward, just exp on completion and when you hail him again he gives same task to do again with same objectives.

                            The scouting task is "Construction of Shadows" from Wraithguard Lorekeeper Fenegar. Have not completed it but it does have a reward listed (a potion).

                            Also, there is a task called "The Library" from something the wise in The Steppes. It requires you to collect 2 books from homes with book cases in Valdeholm. Found the houses that trigger the task update and found book 2 but have checked every bookcase in Valdeholm and cannot find book 1. Possible it is bugged or maybe it drops and not a ground spawn.

                            Sorry to have sidetracked this thread but you did ask hehe.

                              Spent several hours in Vergalid tonight, we did eventually get several clay.

                              It is NOT a casual zone to grind in, there are very few spots to set up, lots of pathing clerics, and trash hits hard. Drops were spotty, we got two within one 30 minute period and had a couple hours without. Honestly, Vergalid is probably the most poorly designed zone I have seen this xpac with rvr. Mobs are tough and plentiful and drops we saw were in the 175 hp range. XP from mobs at 74+ was poor at best.

                              Sneak does not affect the npc's in Vald generally (at least the ones Flec drug me around to test on) or you need better than indifferent.

                                Well put. The old days we got the responce "working as intended" so often that it has become a punchline. People make mistakes. Many of us even expect them from Sony, especially at the launch of a new expansion, but knowing what IS broken so that we can waste time on other stuff is very helpful.
