Can anyone confirm what drops the three remaining ingredients: stonemight silver, vargalid clay and steppes ore? I like several others have gotten the meat, scale, intestines, and silk, but after hours of killing I've yet to see any of the others. I've even been hitting forage just in the off chance it was a foraged item instead of a drop, and no luck as yet.

Also, which container does the clay need to be made in, since it isn't specific for any one tradeskill. I can imagine that it will combine in any of them, but just wondering if anyone has gotten to that stage.

vergalid clay - my first guess on this is the Vergalid Smiths outside of Vergalid mines. The or from the mines themselves. Killed 6 of the smiths, 10 slaves and a handful of mobs inside Vergalid but no luck so far.

steppes ore - no clue. 1st guess was from the elementals in Steppes but only rare thing they have dropped so far is elemental clay quest item. Killed about 40 of the gnolls near Icefall Glacier zone and only ore they had was unrefined ore. Did not try to kill any tree because that would not make sense but maybe centaurs or giants (I did not mess with either of them).

I will check and be sure no-one has removed my drop tables...

the vergalid ones... it is possible that the level of the zone was increased since I chose the mobs in it to put stuff on them (the vergalid clay is indeed IN vergalid) if so I will look into finding another spot.

And though these are "rare" they are not vanishingly rare... about 1 in 7 chance per kill of appropriate mob.

From the book quoted in the first post of this thread:

"you must be sure to make this clay using the appropriate toolkit for the trade, a forge for smithing, a jewelry kit for jewelry making, each appropriate to the skill."

Not that I've tried it in beta or in live. I just remember reading that part.

Found the Vergalid Clay x2 in the bazaar last night for 100pp each. Grabbed them, but still looking for the Steppes Ore (haven't tried hard on this one yet) and the Stonemight Silver which I did spend many hours slaughtering Stonemight Goblins in The Steppes trying to get but no luck.

Stonemight Silver and Steppes ore, if there absence on the /buyer list in bazaar is to be believed, have still not dropped on EMarr yet. Starting to wonder if there is indeed a drop-table issue.

I duo'd at the Stonemight camp in the Steppes with a cleric last night. The mobs are all light blue at lvl 73 and we killed until we had both earned 10% regular exp from the light blues (so a LOT of mobs) and saw no Stonemight Silver. This is either the wrong place or the drop table is missing it. Giving up on this for now.

I will hunt down the Vergalid clay as son as I get home and post what it drops from. Thanks for the info.

That just leaves the Steppes ore. I have killed more than 10 of every type of mob in the steppes now. I know the RNG could just be tormenting me but if the ore is a 1 in 7 drop then I am starting to worry it is also not in the drop list. Gonna hold off on looking for this one again until I finish leveling in case Ngreth finds a bug or missing loot table :-)

                  Have attained:

Leopard Intestines --- a steppes leopard (The Steppes)
Steppes Reptile Meat --- a timber lizard (The Steppes)
Wasp Spider Silk --- a mature wasp spider (The Steppes)
Basilisk Scale --- a bladefin basilisk (Sunderock Springs)
Vergalid Clay --- orcs (Vergalid Mines)

5 drops above ive attained fairly easy and 1 in 7 rate that Ngreth posted above sounds about right.

Killed over 100 Stonemight models in The Steppes and attained no Stonemight Silver.
Killed over 40 Elemental models in The Steppes and attained no Steppes Ore.

If the 1 in 7 droprate holds true and the mobs that we think drop the last two missing items (Ore and Silver) do, then i think there missing from drop tables in game atm as well. Hoping Ngreth can confirm yes or no on that sometime soon.

artisan clay is the clay for the artisan charm which is the combined charm. The baking clay is oven, smithing clay forge, etc. you're right and totally wrong at the same time.

I was in a fairly high end explore/Xp ground in vergalid (we're all Anguish or better geared, very beefy tanks, etc). We were getting decent drops on the Vergalid Clay and Vergalid Manacles in Vegalid Mins, just pulling to the entrance. There are goblin type workers and Orc type overseers -- I think the clay was of the Gobs and the Manacles on the Orcs. I got 3 of each in 45 minutes. The 1:7 estimate seems about right for them.

It's a tough zone though. I am a pretty well-geared ranger and with another ranger, a druid and a chanter, we were able to also camp the same spot, albeit much more slowly. I have to think this would be tough for non-raid geared groups, even with an optimal group.

As for the Steppes Ore and Stonemight Silver, from the buyers' bazaar i can tell that not a single one has dropped yet on Tunare. My guess on the ore was the Gnolls, since some of the Gnolls drop rare cases of Unrefined ore. But I've killed 20 of those (there is quest requiring that, so I figured I'd get all 20 while i was there... I can solo them, to give you a sense of comparative difficulty versus the clay). So if those are the right mobs, 1:7 seems unlikely, RNG quirks or not.

And Stonemight Silver, I have killed about the same number of goblins in Steppes w/o luck either.

Has anyone found either of these yet?

On Luclin's /barter, neither the Stonemight Silver nor Steppes Ore appear on the list, suggesting they haven't dropped yet.
