Where Did all the Spiderling Silks go?

Probably the two spiderlings in the Lfay brownie camp, they are the only ones I've found to almost always drop a minimum of one silk, and will usually drop 3-4. They respawn in 6-7 minutes.

If all spiderlings worked this way (guaranteed at least one spiderling silk no matter what newbie quest items also dropped) we'd all be much happier.

i've actually had the little buggers snub me one round...and a couple where i'd only have 1-2, but still pretty nice. (they're just not *guarenteed*)

Bob is whatever mob I'm camping. When Bob is taken, I have to go to the other mobs in the zone... Cletus, Hank, Cyril, Ty, Virgil, Bubba...

Lfay camp is indeed great, respawn is exactly 6 minutes and sometimes they even drop 7 spiderling silks. I have a screenshot of this, cause I had a hard time believing it myself. If you far enough you can pull them without aggroing the brownies, and watch TV or whatever while you wait.

I don't suppose you would like to share that knowledge? I have long been seeking that fabled crag spiderling...ah, what I would give for the knowledge of a young spider that drops eight spiderling silks. Crag Spiders spawn in East Karana. I believe they drop spider silks though.

I'm not sure what spiderlings Cubwynn is speaking of that can drop up to seven spiderling silks, but it's been ages since I farmed them. The brownie camp sounds like a good possibility. Generally, posting info in that manner is seen as taunting and frowned upon.

Yep the Brownie camp it is. These two are great! I spent a very pleasant 20 min and 2 secs, killed them 5 times, got 22 silks (none twice, got 5 silks once). That is better than I've done in Feerott or EF for ages. Plus less stress, and I've got lots of Brownie parts for baking late, yum! (I hate Brownie Guards and they hate me).

Why cant all spiderlings be like Mutt and Jeff?

I wasn't trying to bait y'all, was just worried about clogging up what is a very productive tradeskill camp (spiderling silks, brownie parts, morning dew, sylvan berries) that just is NOT shareable.

Just thought I'd chime in with another great spot that hasn't been mentioned yet in this thread - Heartsting (?) Spiders in Upper Guk. I haven't been there in quite a while, but it's an easy camp, fairly fast respawn rate, and tons of spiders in there.

Newbies are leveling from 1-5 in tutorial now, gaining gloomingdeep silks instead of spiderling silks. (Hence not seeing them on vendors anymore)

This problem dates faaaaaar back, before the new Tutorial was launched. It dates back to when newbie quest armor was implemented, and things like "spiderling flesh", "spiderling meat", "pristine spider silk, "black spider silk", "wood spider thorax", ETC were added to spiderling drop tables.
