I'm not sure what it is about this, but I just can't make myself stick with it. I have always been a firm believer that anyone who wants to make plat in EQ has got to be willing to do tedious and repetitive things, and I have always been able to do that. I can combine for hours. I can farm the same mobs over and over again, and I used to LOVE Vendor MINING, when you could actually buy stuff from the vendors and reveal hidden items.
But a couple hours of vendor diving and my eyes just completely glaze over. My server happened to bounce yesterday morning and so I swore I was going to work it for all it was worth. And it's not like I didn't find anything - nothing great, but 3 Piles of Gravel, quite a few Blue Diamonds - A lot of saltpeter and stuff like that. But, for some reason, I just can't stand doing it. I suspect this could be really profitable for the time invested, but I'm just going to have to stick to other things.

Best day diving:
2 HQ lion pelts
3 crushed diamond dust
1 great reptile tooth
2 stacks HQ rockhopper
1 treant flies
various medium and low quality skins and pelts
all at the Halas Beastlord spell vendor, I always check him now just haven't had the same luck since.

only 2 stacks of blue diamonds and 1 Crushed diamond dust, but was attacked by a highlands lion while loading up my next port at the gypsey camp in NK and he dropped a HQ lion pelt.

This is not exactly vendor mining, but I'm quite excited none the less.
I was checking barters today, to see if they were paying a really good price for something. I decided to check the bazaar vendors for Yaeth's pg 73. There were several for sale, all in the 100-200pp range. Typical for a Yaeth's pg. 73 left. I look at them anyway, because you never know. One of those 100pp Yaeth's was a right. I couldn't believe my eyes. I grabbed 100pp from the bank, and ran over to that vendor and snapped it up.
Now the dilemma. Someone was paying 15K for it on the spot. Do I dump it for 15K and make a 14.9 profit, or do I take a shot at RGC? Well, I took the shot. My enchanter has research at 194 (with geerlok.) Trivial is like 178 or so. I clicked combine, and there it was, a spell scroll on my cursor.
Now dilemma #2. Do I scribe the spell on my druid, or do I sell it for 50ish K? Heh. Decisions decisions.
Anyway. That's my good luck story for the day.

Almost as bad as finding people around my level who would be interested in doing a few Lavaspinner missions so I can do my GM Task!Angelsyn Whitewings, Cleric of Tunare for 66!Seasons.

There is also a vendor at the gypsie camp. The one where you get the solo tasks for faction and/or hand in tokens for faction. Typically better stocked than the Druid port vendorForest Scion Anahka Slivermane

I just love post patch vendor diving, vendors are all wiped clean and easy to find good or rare stuff.
Within 30 minutes from the last patch, I managed to pick up 5 blue diamonds and 2 crushed diamonds. Picked up almost a dozen more BD's throughout the night and put it on my bazaar mule. Almost 14k profit from one night of vendor mining
Sadlyu that 14k quickly evaporated when I tried to work my smithing and tailoring up after I did the baking and brewing quest.
