  • was just nosing about after reading this thread, and found a little under a stack and a half of innovative clockwork bolts, 4 steel ball bearings, and 1 innovative clockwork gears on pally merchant South Qeynos.

bought'em, put'em on trader, sold out within an hour for a tidy, yet not unreasonable, profit.

i'm hooked on vendor diving now. =)

    • Sadly, my Trader has more stuff to sell than she has room to market stuff!

On the good side, I found 2 Crushed Diamond Dust on a vendor yesterday... and 1 Storm Volaas Hair. Now to wait six months before I see my second one!

      • Since the 27th

Since the 27th patch I have found....

pg 26 Torsan's left and right
        2 bent pauldrans
        1 cracked collar
        4 gauze presses
        3 gem setters
        9 collapsed fletching kits
        1 prylian flame
        9 blue diamonds
        1 dented bracer
        19 sulfurs
        2 glow rocks

but I expect to be doing a better job of vendor diving soon...MWAHHAHA (evil laugh) I play my accounts main char down so that the main gets his goodies first and the alts get his hand me downs....so I keep most of my money in the mains bank, 5K in the shared and 1K on each char...now heres the new and improved vendor diving technique that I am using...I park each of my chars at a certain vendor when they aren't being played...that way i can cycle through them without running all over Norrath.

        1. In Pok
        2. In Baz (my trader)
        3. In Casino
        4. At Ldon Magus so he can cycle through the camps.
        5. Abysmal sea...amazing how much stat food I can get for almost free
        6. Don Merchants in Lava Storm
        7. Lighthouse in Gunthak
        8. Still sitting in PoK ....haven't figured out a good spot for him yet???
        am open to suggestions

        • What's with the blue diamonds? Like half the vendors have these everywhere, even weeks after there has been a patch.. It doesn't look like people are buying these off vendors at all. So why do I see again and again, here, that people are "finding" blue diamonds on vendors..?

          • it's not really something to sell for profit anymore, but if you are skilling JC or smithing, you need those, since BDs are in both skills involved with recipes to 300 that even have *drumroll* a decent sellback price.

When DoN came out and everybody wanted to be 300 JCer, they sold for 500pp each ...

            • In the heyday of BD cultural armors, BD's sold regularly for 1K each. Now they're down to about 325pp; at least, that's what I have to offer for them in buyer mode.

325pp is still more than a vendor will pay, so BDs are still a worthwhile mining item IMO.

                • Yup, a vendor would pay you about 240pp or so, and you can buy them off vendors at 262.5pp best price. I set my price specifically to encourage vendor mining -- I don't have as much time to run around to obscure vendors as I used to, so I'm willing to pay a premium to those who do have the time.

                  • I buy them everytime I see them and resell in bazaar for 375-400pp on my server. They rarely stay in my trader satchel more than a few hours.

                    • I buy every one I see too, but I always convert them to something else before I sell, like celestial temper, artisan seals, or corking devices. Simply selling them as is seems so....ordinary.

                        • If you're on AB i'll trade you a bait dispenser for them - my bards forage just isn't good enough for my tinkerers needs.

As far as vendor mining goes - I take it very seriously /grin.
Over the last few months I have found approx. 300 saltpeters, 200 sulfurs, 15 runic parchments, 30 other parchments and about 60% of the runes etc. needed to skill-up to 227.
Tinker-wise I have found about 100 ball bearings, pinions and coiled springs and about 10 knuckle joints and clockwork carapaces, only about 5 clockwork grease though.
My alchemist been gifted with 100 odd concoction ingredients, about 50 unfired spherical bottles and 3 dusts of discord.
Other stuff found includes 2 glossy drake hides, 10 metallic substance, 10 sporali skin, 14 witheran bile, 9 holgresh fur, 20 drake spikes, 1 girplan feather, 15 drake wing bones, 3 vegerog vines, 12 mountain tea leaves, 5 kirin horns, 15 bloody tormentor parts, 3 shimmering nihilite and 14 scale ore.

I only tend to buy stuff I can use and the tinkerers of AB will be pleased to know that I am no longer mining ball bearings and pinions.

I found 60 Shissar Scales today on an NPC in PoK. Now I am trying to decide if I am going to sell them or use them. From what I have been able to find as a High elf I can only use them for smithed augments. Is that correct? If that is the case then crushed diamond dust will be the rate limiting item. Is that correct? Thanks.
