    Shadowscream vs Human Cultural

Honestly I would recommend Shadowscream over Human cultural because Mugs of Sea Foam drop about 1 in 5 kills in OOT and you need 2 per attempt. Also, you have to shell out quite a bit of cash for the HQ Ore. Shadowscream on the other hand is really cheap and you make a profit for each one you succeed on. Also, Farming wailing and shrieking substance is really fast and easy. Swirling shadows are still a pain, but if your high enough you can get a ton of them in TS.

Great guide, I can't wait until I get back to playing so I can try it out. I hope to have multiple smiths in the 200's by the end of the summer. Tailoring would be a great skill for the next guide.

Of all the other trade skills, I would most appreciate seeing you do a guide on tailoring. As you said, tailoring is difficult and it would prove extremely useful to see the different skill path options all mapped out. You did such a fantastic job with the smithing guide, I really hope you take pity on us poor tailors as well.

This is the BEST guide out there for smithing. And I've seen a lot of them, even paid for one! :P

Thank you for writing this! I was really struggling with the post 188 route. Tried acrylia and culteral and ended up broke and mad with no skill ups! (with around 100 attempts)

Farming may be a pain, but Shadowscream is great! I'd heard of it but until I'd seen it pointed out to me in your guide I realized how easy it is to do.

So now I'm at 192 smithing... After only 36 bracer combines and I couldn't be happier!

Anyways, my reason for posting, other than to heap huge amounts of praise upon you, was to state that yes, Hollowshade is indeed fixed! Spent a large part of last weekend farming there with a couple cleric friends.

We didn't even attempt to work the war as it seems the sides change enough to keep the drops about even.

Thanks for putting this together! I'm looking forward to the next version! 8)

            humming orbs

Would humming orbs be a good way to skill up in stead of Fine Plate and Ornate Chain?

There is a section about that in the guide. If you are planning to sell them, I suppose, but the big beef I have with humming orbs is that they don't stack and unless you are planning to sell them (which you will very much regret when you get to shadowscream) they are going to take up a LOT of room in your stash.

However, since they will only get you to 168, they won't get you very far into fine plate.

Yes I confirmed it. There is a vendor near the Gukta Forge and a normal Forge (in the building) that sells MQ ore. HOwever, he does NOT sell blocks, only large bricks and lower. Also, in V4, I wouldn't mind seeing a section on alternate routes peopel suggest. I will happily test a few different routes I have taken another time and report back to you on their effectiveness.

You'll have to click through a link or two from there, but you should be able to find what you are looking for in the format you need there!

Page 87, Bone temper is listed as being made from Goblin Bones droping in "Rujikian Hills"... iirc, it's Rujarkian.

You also miss a point that I noticed right off about LDoN smithed armor: each piece has more than one augment slot. Thus, the armor starts out decent, and can be developed into something that is very nice and possibly even competitive with some of the mid to high range drop armor. No, it won't replace the highest end gear, but, it can be tailor fitted to your needs and it can compete with the not so high end gear. Which means that it's a very economical path for a young tank to take as this armor should last that tank (if that tank does adventures for augments) for quite some time.

Page 96: You repeat your first statement "If you have access to all parts of Norath .... " twice.

Oh... one more thing: y ou might want to correct the original URL in your initial post. If you get enough replies, your new URL in your later post will get buried causing folks to spam about how the link isn't working (which I almost did myself).

Oh, and for my part, IF you have bank space (on alts presumeably) I think humming orbs is a viable training path as it prepares you for SS armor later down the road, but, I totally agree that since they doesn't stack, this is a difficult path to follow.

                              Clockwork needles

Wonderful guide, thank you! I made some clockwork needles to take me from 128 to 132 (YAY!) but the vendor would not buy them back from me. This may have been changed in a recent patch, sadly.

It did -- and it is going into the new revision. No needles can be bought back now.
