a rather nice female Halfling cleric always used to deliver them to us but I heard she was crushed by a Regrua while hunting for a rare component in the Plane of Water
aka, camp (generic mobs called?) Regura in PoWater for the rare no-drop food ingredient (like Sacred Water for the previous combine). Same mobs probably drop the actual recipie even more rarely.
Ok, If I understand everything correctly, Baking is the next tradeskill in order of flags but Tailoring is mentioned in the text after pottery. So baking would be the next tradeskill I should look into next. (Provided they don't change the quest after this patch.)
Assuming you have the proper flags and the proper skill level you can get the pieces of the quest without doing the steps in order, you would just need the signet to actually DO the quest, that being said step 5 is tailoring since pottery directly leads you into tailoring, step 6 is most likely baking giving that people are getting the text out of him with similar flags.
Ok, I have RZ flag and can get the Baking text (well, he says my skill isn't high enough) while to do the tailoring I would still need to kill another Boss to gain access to Fire according to another poster. Just seems like Baking "should" have been next then tailoring..../shrug
if you're getting the baking part try the tailoring phrase and see if he gives it to you, if he does NOT give it to you then it would seem a case of mixed up flags by verant
Aye, I've killed RZ and have all flags upto killing SolRo for Fire access. I was able to get the baking text while Tailoring still says "need more planar experience." So I dunno, just a little confused I guess.
Unless anyone has data to the contrary (i.e. has completed the tailoring quest), I propose that it is equally likely that Fletching is the next quest as it is Baking.
The only reason we have the catchphrase to ask about baking is random experimentation. I just told Aid Grimel different phrasings of "I have good skill in cooking" until he responded when told "I am a master chef".
I tried the same with fletching, but haven't hit upon the right phrase yet.
Aye the 6th step(after tailoring) could have us using flying gnome rockets to blow up a satelite in Kunark for all we know, the only reason we knew the baking(and tailoring phrase originally) was via pure trial and error+ people with proper flags.
Aid Grimel says, 'Outstanding work Khoren! I can feel the purity of the water radiating through the clay. Are ye skilled with the needle as well as an accomplished potter?'
FACT: Tailoring is the next step after Pottery

I can now confirm that the baking part of this quest requires the Rallos Zek flag Killed RZ tonight and when saying "I am a master chef" he responded with this:
FACT: Baking requires the Rallos Zek flag

ASSUMPTIONS:
This quest has had a flagging 'blockage' before. The very first step was a blockage. If you can get the Bertox flag, the first 4 steps are obtainable. This, to me, hints at 'tiers' within the quest.
The first 'tier' requires a guild of Rallos-attempt power, and has 4 stages. It has one of the hardest tradeskills required to begin (smithing)
The second 'tier' requires a guild of Elemental-attempt power, and has 2 additional stages. It has the other of the hardest tradeskills to begin this tier (tailoring)
The third (final?) stage will probably require either elemental god stages (maybe Fennin), or in a worst case, it'll require PoTime access.
It doesn't make sense to need Sol Ro before Rallos given their relative power, but it does tie in with the first teir in needing Bertox before Marr or the Zeks.
I'm guessing the tailoring step will be a jump with a decent effect tagged on (10 stats, 5 resists, 50/50hp/mana, probably UV/see invis) then the Sol Ro step being a decent jump (15 stats, 10 resists, 75/75, maybe 100/100, maybe Faerune effect, probably a focus too). If you can get the level 5 earring, it's 100% sure you can get the L6 earring. You've maxed 5 tradeskills, what's one more. This earring will be obtained by people with elemental access. I'd expect it to start being of use to the people having put in the work to get it by now.
(note: The next earring after pottery isn't in magelo yet, so if it has been completed, it's not been published)
I could be mistaken but I thought you could originally get to the Plane of Fire without having to kill RZ then SolRo in that order. They made that change to the progression of the flags but might not have changed the quest accordingly.
Either way, I hope to have SolRo killed by this weekend. Until then I can get my tailoring and baking up to 220.
Btw, have you tried Lucy to see if there is anything on the next earring?
saying "I am a master chef." will get you this reply:
[Fri Jan 10 16:06:51 2003] Aid Grimel says 'When we adventure in the Planes there is only one meal that keeps us in top fighting shape. It is called a Bristlebane's Party Platter. Unfortunately the platter is awkward and not easy to adventure with so you need to place them in this satchel. I know not how to make the Platter, a rather nice female Halfling cleric always used to deliver them to us but I heard she was crushed by a Regrua while hunting for a rare component in the Plane of Water. Brell bless her soul! Combine three of the platters and the signet inside the satchel.'
He then hands you a four-slot Field satchel.
I've tried several different phrases to see if I could get more information but I was unable to get any information on the cleric, platter, rare component or the signet needed to be combined. But I really suck at coming up with the "correct" phrases like this, anyone have any clue as to what might work?
I´m not very familiar with Rivervale, but the solution to the riddle could be found there.
a rather nice female Halfling cleric always used to deliver them to us
If there is a cleric guild or something close to that in Rivervale, i would try to throw some keyphrases like "what Bristlebane´s Party Platter" at the NPC´s there, seems to me like the recipe source in part 2 for the bar of pure velium
I sing of Heroes, Magic and Faith
A Sonnet of pure Victory
A Hymn to the Fearless, the Savage, the Brave
And whichever Gods there will be
