Well, I'll admit, I've been disappointed that a series of pottery recipes haven't turned up for GoD yet. It's possible they are out there undiscovered, or maybe even have been discovered and just not shared with this community. Given our lack of any indication of such in GoD, it seems like it's been since the release of PoP that we've had the introduction of a major line of pottery items to which a sizeable portion of the potter population has access.
I was just sitting around pondering what might be interesting for a new line of pottery items. I think it would be nice to have a new set of items that would be accessible to more than those reaching the high-end of a difficult expansion. Any thoughts?
I don't think it would be reasonable to expect a line of focus effects above the IV items; such items, even if they were introduced, would necessarily include hard to get components.
How about more spell-imbued items? The Faith/Spirit/Soulstone line has become a staple of potter vendors, and the Crucible Item of Escape was an interesting idea (I think the advent of AA evacs has made it less popular). What do you think of each class getting an idol with a class defining spell in it? For example:
Urn of the Nine
Slot: Primary Secondary
Effect: Blessing of the Nine (Cast Time: 30.0)
Required level of 65
Wt: 0.1 Size: Small
Class: DRU
Race: All
And of course, one of the components for the combine would be the spell, itself. I think it is best to make the required level match up with the spell level. However, there could be a series of Urns for the various spells of descending levels. Enchanters could have Urn of Quellious, Urn of Koadic, etc.
That's just an idea. The fact that the mana cost is being eliminated would have to be balanced by the cast time. And perhaps there could be a significant recast time (although I guess to do this, they would have to change the name of the spell; as I understand it, they couldn't put a recast time just on the item - it would be attached to the spell).
Feel free to throw out ideas. I'm hoping we can contribute to the future of our craft by getting an interesting discussion going that might give a spark of an idea to the tradeskill team
Thanks,
Zep
