  • Shared bank space

Over at eqdruids.com the front page reports that you are now able to share two of your bank spaces across all your characters on the test server. Can anyone confirm this? And if so, how does it work? Two more spaces in the bank?

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Considering SoE announced as such, I'd trust it.

In the same breath, they said Iksar get tinkering? That is by far the oddest skill form them to get and I suspect is a bug. However if it is true, it would make Iksar the ultimate tradeskill race. You could have an Iksar shaman that could do all the normal 7 tradeskills, alchemy and tinkering as well, and they can forage too! Right up there with Gnome enchanter in usefulness.

        Sloppy question asking

Ah, ok. Sorry, sloppy posting. I guess I put that badly. The announcement i read only said that people would be able to share bank space--not how it was to be shared. I was rather wondering about the mechanics of this shared bank space. I found the answer at MB. Two extra slots for everyone. Wow. I was willing to lose two of my existing slots for this, but I am overjoyed at the thought of gaining two extra slots.

This was confirmed on the Paladins of Norrath message board by a Paladin from the Test Server.

It's Two Additional Bank Slots that are shared between all characters on your account.

Now my Enchanter-Trader-Mule can buy upgrades & supplies in the Bazaar/Shadowhaven and my Paladin/Cleric don't need to leave LoY!

P.S. Some people were asking about shared cash... but why bother? Buy stacks of low-cost gems (like Peridots or Star Rubies) and transfer them by the back-pack full.

Why low cast gems? All gems have the same sell back rate of a 5% loss, no matter weather it is losing 5sp on a 1gp gem or 5pp on a 100pp gem. So buy stacks of rubies or sapphires.

Being a jeweler, I would personally buy a bunch of rubys and make enchanted silver jewelry from them to smooth out the 5% loss. Can transfer up to 2kpp (4kpp if you can find a bunch of diamonds) to a non jeweler character, and up to 40kpp (80kpp in diamonds) to my jeweler at a time.

I'm starting to regain my faith in Sony. I'd take this feature over just about anything that came with LoY (well, excluding the extra 8 bankslots) and they aren't even holding this til the next expansion is released for a feature. Very cool.

Not only do you get the 2 more bankslots (18 slots total!), but you can now transfer stuff without asking someone to hold some stuff for you while you switch characters. You have no idea how tedious it gets trying to transfer stuff I made to a mule night after night and having to flag down a friend to do it.

I'm looking very forward to this change.

THis is nice but not nearly as nice on FV. Since we can have only 1 character per account it only amounts to two extra bank slots for us

No, this is not true. The loss is higher than 5%. You lose 5% on buying, and another 5% on reselling, so your total loss is actually 1.05 x 1.05 = 1.1025, or 10.25% to be exact. You buy Peridots (taking these as example since I know exact price on those) for 10.5pp and sell them for 9.524pp - I'm ignoring the 1cp-reduction they introduced a short while ago as a "dirty" fix to another problem they had.

The item value is exactly 10pp (or 10,000 cp, to be more exact), so you lose 5% on buying (as buy price is 10.5pp) and you lose another 5% on selling (as sell price is 9.524pp). Loss rate = 10500/9524 = 1.102478... = 1.1025, rounding it off.

Wow, cool feature! Now I can transfer items to my chanter. If it goes live(beyond test server). But how does it work? How do you know what slots to put the item(s) in that you want to transfer? Two extra slots at the bottom?

I think you may have missed the point - that the loss relative to the cost is the same regardless of the price of the gem. How its worked out or explained isnt really important.

Not on test right now anymore either, it won't be back on there for a week, according to what was broadcast yesterday while I was playing on there.
