Are these changes on test now? I was getting ready to skill up a dwarven smith in hopes of making some cultural armor (I've done it before on live). I had noticed some 'sacred' augments for sale in the bazaar and was wondering what was happening.

If they are already on test, where do I find the books for the recipes?

Any idea in how many expansions this will become available?

While you are at it, any chances you could stack the wrist patern/mold (or lose the useless charm) to fit a shoulder pattern/mold in there?

Will all current pieces be converted to new one once this change goes live? If I have 300 pieces of armor and symbols in stock that have yet to be sold, will it all get converted over to the new named stuff or will it just become "grats destroy"?

I am actually using the same items. They just have their names changed.

            Probably some.

The books are not yet in. They still need a code change.

there is no solid information for that at this time.

Same item. It is just a name change.

Thanks, hate to lose so many items that I will be creating in the next weeks before patch. NOW to try to figure out where to store them all. WTB mule space!!!

#1 it is appropriate for tinkering to be making "Armor Templates" (most tinkered armor in the game is attached to a "template" or a sort if you look at it)
#2 is in dire need of skillup path adjustment.

I am not saying that it could not use skillup path attention, but I do not feel it needs it as badly as tailoring needs it. And Smithing just happened to benefit because it made sense to do the same thing for smithing, especially since we wanted to use the "templates" in the cultural. Tinkering can be used in the final combines for both the armor and the symbols.
So the final combines can still be tinkered, is it safe to assume that some will be over 300 (preferably in the 350) "trivial" range so that we can still level up our trophies with them?

                      Thank you

I had acquired some Metallic Drake Scales and some Glossy Drake Hides at lowered prices in anticipation of eventually using them. While I understand that they may remain part of the recipe, they also may not. So, it's time to make that armor.

                      Thanks for the warning.

                        Now, back on track.

The fourth change that we’ll be making is to change the cultural armor recipes to use the above-mentioned templates in the process of crafting the base cultural armor piece. The cultural armor will still require the quested books, as their patterns are what you will use to apply the culturally specific designs to the armor. This will require a new drop that is generic for all races, as well as either ore or thread (for smithing or tailoring, respectively) that is specific to your race and sold by NPC vendors. The symbols will receive a similar treatment and will still require the quested books in order to craft.
This change will nullify the usage of all existing drops in the cultural armor crafting process.
I had to go back and re-read Ngreth's original post to clarify what I thought I read the first time. DoN augments will be changed also and the changes will be in parallel to the Tailoring/Smithing changes for creating the DoN armor pieces. From the context; and I may very easily be wrong, I interpret Ngreth as saying changes to making DoN cultural augments will be done at the same time as changes to making the armor. Please correct me if anyone has gotten different info??

All in all I have to say hats off to the Super Tradeskill Dev for for going way above and beyond in giving the TS community info in a clear and timely manner. I know many sales folks who make commission off of their customer's who do not do as good a job as Ngreth regularly does.

                          Umm...

I also have like 40 Metalic Drake Scales. Its not clear to me that these need to be used now and not saved.

Should we use them up now or not?

It looks to me like they will be making the same changes to the DoN augments as they are to the armor. So I personaly will not be holding onto anything. It will all go into crafting this weekend at the latest. I'd rather burn through my entire stockpile for a shot at even one skill up than be left holding the bag a day late and a copper short.

does this apply to the type 12 augs and if not is anything gonna be done about the low quality discordant harder to acquire overall than the bazu and last blood components.. it would seem discordant would be soloable . bazu would be groupable and last blood require raiding. regardless the drops rate most importanlty the variety of mobs these drops are avaialble from seem disproportinate for the quality of the augs themselves
