Unfortunately there is a limit to the difference between what the vendor will buy and sell for.

the largest difference possible is 1c buy 1g sell (or a 100x modifier). Which in many cases is not good enough.

Then you have things like the gem cutter which is rather expensive to make and it would really suck to only be worth 1c to a vendor.

There is currently not "no NPC Buy" flag except the no trade flag... which has the other problem of not trading between players and shared bank.

I will probably be coming up with a partial solution that we will be improving as we work through various tradeskills and do some cleanup / fixing. This solution will seem unfair to some tradeskills (because they will be left out, not because they are being singled out), and it is unfortunate, but we considered it the best solution in the short term as we look at it over the long term. I will speak on the more long term plans after the short term idea is implemented.

Check the code you have on the cultural armor. To the dismay of every cultural tradeskiller, we can make it and trade it but it has absolutely no value to a vendor or tribute master.

Aren't all summoned items flagged as tempory always? No need to make they attunable or non tradeable.

That's because of the "Attuneable" flag - and it's a side-effect of the fact that they can't check whether an item has actually been attuned, and has thus become NODROP (as opposed to the generic item being NODROP). This could well work, but it's a bit of a kludge that relies on a side effect of a work-around....

If the Gem Cutter selling for 1cp is a real problem (I can't see why anyone would really expect to get a lot of money back from a Vendor for that, to be honest), you could leave that one out - but I for one would welcome saying farewell to the scrabbling around for where I left my pot/frying pan/cake round/dairy spoon/file/smithy hammer....

I'm getting the feeling from the discussion here that what you have in mind is a new portable tradeskill container ("tool bag"?) that has Recipes for all the tools that you want - am I on the right track?

These summoned tools, or tools in general? If it's the latter, then I have a problem with it. Sometimes people will run by a vendor, see a file (or another tool) and pick it up.

Is there any way to make the summoned ones no-rent, non-vendor purchasble, and still work in the recipes without having to double the amount of recipes in the game?

There are a number of items that are tradable, but venders won't touch them. Cultural armor and damaged muramite battle blades are some that come to mind immediately.

there is some droppable loot that is Lore, but not attuneable, in CoD I think, that vendors will not buy but does have tribute value...

That's not an issue, there's plenty of stuff that Merchants won't buy but have Tribute value -- such items would have a zero value listed, and would also be SOLD by merchants "for no money". What's needed here is a way that a Merchant can sell the tools at the same price they do now, but not buy them back.

As for Kyroskane's remark about the market for player-made tools, it's pretty much non-existent simply because the tools are never used up (with the possible exception of the bread tin - is that still lost when you get "burned bread"?).

Here's an idea: instead of messing with tools or creating an entirely new set of tools, why not change the summoning item to have long recast timer? ie 1 bag of tool for each tradeskill, max 1 per 3 hours summon timer. That should make the possible exploit useless.

That doesn't seem right, as this costs 4000pp to buy but is listed as having a cost of 1cp.

Yeah, the unknown058 (merchant greed factor) for the distillers seems to hold their price (and is much bigger than 100).

That is becasue it is "no Trade" (Attunable is another version of No-Trade)

I really don't want to make these items no value. The armor had a reason... the tools I don't see it as much.

I will look at that item and see if there is a way, or if lucy is parsing incorectly.

It may then work. I was relying on a document that said it did not.
