And before someone says I was "stupid" not to think about people in the middle... the accelerated exp if the player gets ahead of the trophy was my thought on it. I did actually think about it. It is just that now I thought of a better way to go about it.

I strongly doubt that the 'highest mod wins' rule has been changed, otherwise it would lead to even more of an advantage for the people with the Luclin raid-level skill mods (upto +15% from those,+ upto 12% from new trophy, +5% geerlock....).

With the current skill mod rules, Geerloks will still have a market, for those people whose trophy level is under 5 (skill under 200?) -- still worth having for many people.

Looks very intriguing, I'll be excited to see it go live and play around with it.

Ngreth, I do think your new idea on dealing with folks in the middle makes a lot of sense.

              West Freeport.

I think that there will be something in the patch message saying for tradeskillers to go talk to Baublie Diggs in West freeport.

And in response for the next spat.

it *IS* in the newbie yard, so mostly safe from guards.

AND they are adding quests in general for people to relatively easily, no matter their race and current faction, to get good faction in freeport. (Baublie is friendly to anyone, she is a happy hafling and happy to work with you no matter your background)

One more thing that I was required to do that may not be 100% popular. You must have the expansion. This was a requirement and not my choice.

There is not stacking. It is still best mod only.

edit - Ngreth already answered the question....

So, I am gonna use this spot instead to post a fiendly reminder:
                  (typo? what typo?)

Ngreth may no longer be the official sitter-onner of rude people and the like, but I promise I will borrow Mum's Rolling Pin of Doom(tm) and smack the rudeness right out of folks, if it continues.

                  *ahem*

Now back to your regularly scheduled Spoilers...

Disclaimer - These are rough notes from Beta, so don't hurt me if I'm wrong or things got changed before Live

There are 7 levels of trophies -

The levels are skill based, and require a number of combines done in each level to progress.
                    • Level 1 = Beginner (50)
                    • Level 2 = Apprentice (100)
                    • Level 3 = Freshman (150)
                    • Level 4 = Journeyman (200)
                    • Level 5 = Expert (250)
                    • Level 6 = Master (300)
                    • Level 7 = Grandmaster (300+)

The way I understand it, if you are 300 already, you will get a level 6 trophy after the task, which you will then have to skill up on to get to the final 7.

If you have 282 skill, you will get a level 5 trophy, and it will evolve up as you skill up. If you are 189, you get a level 3 trophy, and so on. Anyone who gets a level 4 or better trophy will have same/better than the old trophy (or geerlock).

                    Level 1 ?
                    Level 2 ?
                    Level 3 Trophy with a 4% mod
                    Level 4 Trophy with a 5% mod
                    Level 5 Trophy with a 8% mod
                    Level 6 trophy with a 12% mod
                    Level 7 trophy with a 15% mod

So there really is no reason to complain that "I'm already 300" and thinking this isn't a benefit to you. I'll be getting my Level 6 smithing, level 5 spell research, and level 5 tailoring ones as soon as possible.

These tradeskill changes make this the expansion I have looked most forward to since the patch that finally fixed stat food and drink. I am *excited* about this. I haven't been excited about anything in game for years.

                      Thank you very, very much.

For some people with 15% already, this may not be something they "want" for that skill. ::shrug:: that has always been up to players.

Now for the change I mentioned I was looking into making to the way the certificates work...
I do plan on making the changes, but the changes are more complex than I expected when I first thought about it. The current way I do it does not pass in what skill the player is using, because at the time it was not important... you were already using the correct skill if you were making the combine. In order to make the change I want to make work correctly I do have to know what skill is being used so I can actually check what skill number the character is at. This requires a much broader change to about 56 scripts instead of just one (and I will be able to take the scripts down from 56 to 6 when I make the change.)
Because it is so broad a change, it will have to wait until right after release when it can get proper testing.

So here is my thought/question...and is really just me thinking outloud. Do these trophies really affect TSers whose target are DoN combines? I am sitting at 212 in tailoring and was looking to do about 700 +/- combines prior to actually getting my hands on PoR. If I wait and do the combines with the new trophy in hand it will get xp but I since DoN combine success rates are hard capped even having the lvl 5 trophy really wont do anything for me. Granted if I were doing a combine other then DoN it would but is there anything to actually make that is of value other then skill up attempts? To be honest I really haven't looked but also haven't really read anything that would lead me to believe otherwise. That probably reads much more negatively then it is intended.

It's very hard to get your guild excited about going to VT sometimes to get a trophy...and heaven help you if you suggest trying for a pair of Tailoring shears.

I'm curious to know if the 12% mod on the lvl 6 trophy will allow you to get experience from combines at lets say 300-335 trivial level?

What I am seeing is most of the upper end combines triv at level 335.

If this is the case, was this done on purpose?

If the answer continues to be yes then it would mean all GM combines in tailoring, pottery, only radiant combines in JC, and just plain forget about getting experience in Fletching, baking and brewing.

Last time I checked, if I did a combine with a mod% it was counted as trivial despite my base skill level.
