Ok, here's the things to keep in mind.

1) I didn't get rolled back. I lost nothing. I gained a double exp weekend.
2) I'm finishing a four year degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering in an ENGINEERING school. This isn't DeVry.
3) I have personal knowledge of MULTIPLE people in TOP-END raiding guilds who lost:

a) Multiple Demi-plane raid loot drops
b) multiple multiple tinkered boxes for the Last Blood augments
c) dozens of ultra-rare-drop components for the boxes
d) planar flag (Sol Ro / Fire) [on their alts, clarified so you don't think I believe Ele/Time is TOP-END]
e) over a third of their plat

because someone accidentally put tainted goods (made from tradeskill runs from tainted items bought unsuspectingly in the bazaar) in the Guild Tribute while their characters had guild tribute effects turned on.

Per my earlier post in this thread the actions taken by SOE, despite the self-serving and obviously wrong-headed producers letter, are unacceptable. This should never have happened TIMES TWO had they done a professional job, per industry standards for software engineering. And their response was WOEFULLY inadequate (dupers and laundering HAPPENED while the innocent were punished, fact) and completely wrong. Had they shut down and re-patched none of this (including people who LOST ALL GEAR due to being rolled back to "death" with no corpses) would have happened. They have in previous days patched the patch immediately and said "to PoHate with players schedules, we have to fix this."

Either the Producer, the Customer (dis)Service chief, or the Lead Programmer should answer for this with their job. Someone is responsible, and that someone should lose their job. Period.

The two downtimes to "alleviate" the problem with the double exp weekend is, in fact, TWICE the downtime they claimed they wanted to avoid by keeping the servers up. They realize they completely mishandled this from the moment they /permakilled the first Beta NPC vendor. Now they have switched horses mid-stream to try and convince the "uneffected majority" to shout down those who took, in some cases CRUSHING, rollbacks thru no fault of their own.

SOE programmers made the mistake. SOE programmers and staff AMPLIFIED rather than reduced the scope of the mistake. SOE programmers should foot the bill.

I want a name. And I want their job. Because _I_ would have had the guts to kill the servers and do a tape back up. "It effected less than 1 percent of the population." Therac-25 only killed 3 to 6 people while properly treating thousands. That's WAY less than one percent, guess we'll let it slide huh?
