Trade Skill Pattern Book Quest Issues

I was 3 horns for 80 kills. However I was at 60 kills for the first horn to drop. Also we carried on and must have doubled the number of kills at least and no more horns. Was a group of us wiping the rats fast in Dragon Necrolpolis.

Half Elf issue

I was doing the first quest for the journeyman book which was Kill 20 sharks in Erud's Crossing and loot 4 lake pebbles. What ia found was that I was able to loot the first 2 pebbles but any pebble after that I was able to loot but it would not show up in my inventory and it was no longer on the corpse. While since I was close to the translocator I tried porting back to S Qeynos and banking the first 2 pebble and then when I zoned back into Erud's Crossing I was again able to loot 2 more pebbles. Once again the 3rd pebble did not show up in inventory. I then finished killing my 20 sharks and then went back to the bank. I was then able to add my 2 pebbles from the bank to the 2 in my inventory and turn them in to the quest giver.

I also noticed that once you go below the water surface everything goes black in Erud's Crossing so finding the sharks was a real pain. I thought that this may be my video so I did rerun the directx9 and video driver installs to make sure that was not the issue and it did not fix this problem. Luckily I was a druid and able to track the sharks and just as you go level with the water surface you can see the sharks just fine but once fully submerged everything goes black.

Just to respond to this, it's nothing new, visibility under the water has always been very poor, except for just at the surface for some weird reason.

Gnomish Expert Book Mission

Kill 50 elemental warriors, loot 10 drops of mercury

The elemental warriors are on Minions of Underfoot faction which, according to my understanding of EQ lore, is closely tied to the god I worship: Brell Serillis. I would prefer not to ruin my faction with Minions of Underfoot as there is no way to raise this faction.

Following up on my earlier post about the wood elf master symbols quest in CoM, I ended up needing 4 hours of clearing every undead mob from zone in to castle to get 50 kills. I had anywhere from 2 to 8 spawns per clearing.

After starting off with the relatively high drop rate I mentioned before (10 bone chips in 9 kills), I went on a long drought and eventually finished a spawn cycle with 47 kills and 19 bone chips. On the next cycle, all 4 of the spawn points nearest the zone in came up as plaguebones and 3 of the 4 dropped 2 bone chips each.

In conclusion, both spawn rates of the plaguebones and drop rates for the bone chips are very streaky and are frustratingly low overall.

Finished the Halfling Journeyman Quest today:

It took 67 minotaur kills to gather 4 minotaur axes in the Gorge.

It took 53 evil eye / ee named kills to finally see a Polished Bone Bracelet drop. Luckily it dropped off an evil eye!

I'll follow up my prior post about CoM and the "Dismantling Golems" task for the expert wood elf book with similar information. Went back last night with two people to help me and it still took another six hours to finish the 50 kills of plaguebone skeletons, and two additional hours to get the remaining bone chips. When we returned to kill 5 army behemoths, two were up on zone in, and all drop the strange ochre clay. Got the third on the next respawn... and then killed the entire cycle in the area where they pop for over two hours before we saw the final two.

Contrast this with helping my friend do the second (expert) barbarian task, in Nurga - a total of 2 and a half hours to complete the first section killing 50 goblins of any variety and looting 20 Mt Death Mineral Salts. I'm happy we did his so swiftly, but that doesn't relieve the pain of the dreadful grind to do the wood elf one.

I am on Torvonnilous. I am on the evil eye stage of the first book.. I have killed in the last two days, 107 evil eyes and named in the gorge and not gotten a single polished bone bracer to drop??? is this going to be the new normal situation?? Hope it gets changed. Thanks for your time.

3rd step : seb krups : those mobs must be the rarest in sebilis and they are spread all over on both floors, took me 2 hours to get 8 and 4 flowers
4th step : thundercrest : the drakes are only creatures the work so it takes a lot of missions to get it done but what irritated me most is that I misclicked and when wanted to remove from normal mission I removed from this task

can you please add a confirmation message to remove from task or at least to remove from none primary task (mission) ? lots of progress lost cause I forgot to highlight

It took me about 3 hours to finish the Iksar master book task. Went over near where the chef lives and just laid waste to everything that moved there...had the 40 wax flowers long before I killed 80 krups (and about 5k in vendor loot, heh). Went back for second part and killed all 5 Ilis shaman in about 20 mins near lower zo.

GM book on the other hand is taking a long time. Currently 86/120 on Isle mobs and 63/80 on fractured drake claws. I'm getting there, and the drop rate in the missions has been pretty good, but I think its pretty obnoxious that parts for a TS quest only drop in mission instanced versions of the zone.

Wood elf master book quest (I think it's called Acrylia Expedition) in inner sanctum of Acrylia Caverns...

At level 62, spent 5 or so hours there tonight for a total of 40 sanctum grimlings killed (80 needed). Slow yes, but was not due to lack of mobs but our own downtime duoing, and our play style. Drop rate on the toes, however, was bad. Got only 8 of those out of 40 needed. This runs far behind the "ideal" rate you mentioned which would expect 3/4 of the drops, at least, by the time of the 80th kill (or 30 of 40). Halfway through as I am, I should have at least 15.

I also was doing the AC wood elf master quest yesterday and in the first 32 kills I had 2 toes. By around 40 I think I had 3 to 4 toes.

Being on FV, the biggest problem I see with the quests is they are not completeable if the mobs are green to you. At 48, I cannot complete the quest for the journeymans book, because I am required to loot a lightstone (or burnt out one) off of the wisps, but the Trivial Loot Code will not allow it.

In my opinion, this should be looked into.

I could just complete the experts book, but then I would not be able to make Journeyman level augs, which would require me to raise my skill one more notch.

Just completed first and second parts of iksar GM task (120 Isle creatures/80 fractured drake claws). Third step was to return 4 claws to Sieeva, no problem. Step 4 and 5 I have a problem with....kill 10 Ilse Defenders and loot 1 Razor-sharp-drake-claw....mainly becasue I've killed maybe 50-60 defenders and let probably 40-50 razor sharp claws rot in completing the first part. Should have at least been a different set of mobs/items to be in line with the first 3 tiers.

Grandmaster - 69/120 "Stillmoon creatures" killed (ones from all zones count). 0/80 glossy kirin manes from Stillmoon kirins. Problem: if these only drop in instances then it will take 4x forever to complete this. When people do missions they just want to complete the mission and move on. There's not very many kirins in stillmoon in the first place and most of them are out of the way of mission objectives.
