No I can read. The 1s that didnt count were fractured, the razors, i saw were razors and didnt loot, or /destroyed them to get rid of the corpse.

    • I really wish the Grandmaster drops were not limited to "instances". So far, I've done like 10 stillmoon missions (instances) but no Thundercrest. The Halfling traders in my guild are already done with their Grandmaster quest, while the wood elves have to wait for the higher level missions to even start their collections. This seems grossly unfair.

I've always done trades when I have an hour or so to fill. Limiting the collections to complete the GM quest eliminates the possibilities of finishing the quest within a reasonable time. Let us do the collections in the normal zones please.

Finally, while it may have seemed like a creative idea to have different quest items for the different races, the implementation makes it harder for some over others. I just don't see how that's fair.

Specifically, we would like to know if anyone has encountered a trade skill task in which the loot element was less than three quarters done when the kill element was completed (for example, after 80 of 80 spiders were killed, only 17 of 40 spider webs were looted). Your character race and the name of the trade skill task would be most helpful. I can't guarantee a quick fix, but I can say that within the next few weeks we hope to reexamine all trade skill quests to ensure they are on par with one another. Thanks,

Journeyman Thick Grizzly Hide drops well balanced to number of kills. However, the quest guy ate 2 of the 4 I gave him originally, without crediting towards the task. Other than that. Really well balanced

Expert-Killed maybe 30% more HG's than task required to get the Lambent Stones, but that wasn't too bad.

Master-Now working on 1st stage. Up to 'bout 100 Di'Zok with 26 of the medallion things. Figure I'll end up killing 160 or so versus the 80 required, but this is ok since I am getting xp off these guys. (Also, I probably never would have ventured into Chardok without this task and I really like the zone. Well, the entry loop anyway. Not tough enough to venture in further yet.)

        • Ogre GM quest - Runnin da Isles - had 59/80 at the time I reached 120 kills..

While not likely part of the 'vision' for this quest... it appears that the fastest way to get this step done is :
          Simple Task mission:
Group zones in, one toon with high enough faction to get the thundercrest missions stays in lavastorm mission camp.
Kill the entry mobs - potential of up to 4 drakes
          Drop Mission & zone out
          Tag new mission
          Zone in... rinse + repeat
There is no lockout timer triggered by doing this, can do this as fast as you can kill those mobs and zone - unsure if this is intentional mechanics, or if devs missed the lockout coding on this one, haven't checked all the thundercest instances - stopped looking once I found one with lots of drakes and no roamers at instance zonein point. =)

Also, if you choose to stay in, respawn in there is about 30 minutes, and respawn is identical to initial spawns - while you get different spawn patterns, once a pattern is chosen by triggering the instance, the respawn follows it, at least on the entry mobs... so... if soloing w/bots to meet group requirments, re-trigger until you get 4 drakes up at the start, to work the first set - dont know yet which instance is best for the kirin for next section of the quest, 17 claws to go....

          • I started the halfling Ancestral Book Quest yesterday after I read on the EQ Traders Corner front page that it had really and truly been fixed.

The first two drops in Runnyeye, a Fractured Femur and Cat Skull Cap, dropped in a reasonable amount of time. (Something for the Halfling DoN cultural armor quest write-up hints: the cat skull cap drops fairly often from the Pickclaw Mindrippers on the second level.)

My halfling was not able to find a Bunch of Optic Nerves or a Minotaur Horn in over three hours of mass killing of minotaurs and the four or five evil eyes he found in the Gorge of King Xorbb.

The biggest problem was a great lack of evil eyes. He killed dozens of the evil eye lords and eight Fabled Evil Eyes to get normal evil eyes to spawn. I think the drop rates for the Minotaur Horn and Bunch of Optic Nerves needs to be bumped up and the spawn rate of evil eyes needs to be increased to a greater degree. In the past, evil eyes used to spawn in the western part of the zone as well.

He's not even going to try doing the Journeyman's Book Task, since at the evil eye's current spawning rate, it would probably take over ten hours to find ten of them. (BTW, the drop rate for the Minotaur Battle Axe seems to be reasonable.)

Of course, the first evil eye lord he killed last night dropped a Bunch of Optic Nerves. He killed another dozen or so minotaurs without luck.

Then he decided to do a little vendor mining in the Steamfont Mountains to try to locate a Minotaur Horn. None of the gnomes had any horns, so he decided to explore the minotaur caves. The second minotaur he saw was carrying something that looked like a horn, so he killed it and found that, indeed, that minotaur had been holding a Minotaur Horn.

He ported back to Rivervale and successfully turned in the four items for his Halfling Cultural Armor book.

              • I've been banging my head against the human (Qeynos) grandmaster quest, called Ripples in Stillmoon. I've found several particular problems.

                1) The drop rate of Rough Patch of Goblin Skin seems inordinately low, especially given the relative rarity of goblins in the zone.

                2) You must loot the Rough Patches yourself. If someone else in the group loots them, it doesn't count for your quest. When doing the other tradeskill quests, the quest updated if a groupmate looted the quest item.

                3) Looting a Rough Patch of Goblin Skin off the Goblin Chieftain in the mission Animated Statue Plans doesn't count towards your quest. Maybe the Chieftain should be renamed Stillmoon Goblin Chieftain?

                4) The "kill 120 Stillmoon mobs" part will count any mob with Stillmoon in the name, including drakes and kirins. However, only the goblins have a chance to drop the Rough Patch. Also, the quest will count kills of mobs with "Stillmoon" in the name, even if you're not in an instance. Since I spent a goodly amount of time killing in the non-instanced Stillmoon zone for the DoN progression quests, and since I've been doing Stillmoon missions almost exclusively for a shot at the rough patches, I completed the kill part with only 20 items collected.

                • That's strange...

I am working on the Human Qeynos Armor myself, but I have to kill arachnids in lavaspinner's lair and loot 80 eye clusters.

Hmm... that just confuses me heh.

                  • Maybe it's the Freeport quest then. I requested both, but I ended up starting the Stillmoon one, so I never started the other.

[[EDIT]] I just completed the quest yesterday, and it is indeed the Freeport quest. I apologize for the confusion. [[End edit]]

Oh, and it's a Goblin Warlord, not a Goblin Chieftain. Sorry about that.

                    • I don't know if this has been covered yet...

                      High Elven Master quest.

Killing the shrooms & looting the fungus clumps was not a problem. Ended up killing about 95-100 shrooms to get the 40 clumps, so the ratio was fine.

Killed about 12 Lotuses, looted 5 Sweet Lotus Sap, 2 Sticky Lotus Sap, no Soft Lotus Petals.

Haven't had a chance to go back.

Step 4 - Kill 10 lizardman warder - to my knowledge, there is no such mob in the Feerott, have yet to see one - there are Tae Ew warders, however, and these *do* count towards the kill - quest requirement text needs correcting. =)

                        • Human Freeport Ancestral Book possible?

I spent 6 hours and killed every snake on the Rathe in Oasis, Ro and West commonlands. Yes, every single snake that spawned for 6 hours.

A Snake Venom Sac did not drop. Cistern asps drop Asp Poison Sac, which the Freeport quest giver will not accept.
