My comments? Tradeskillers ... make room for more specialized tradeskill containers and even more new implements (at least last I saw). Was so frustrated by that, I kinda gave up.

The new cultural armor comes in several skill levels. The highest, called Grandmaster's (armor name), trivials at well over 300. The chestpiece trivials at 386 or so. The stats, however, are nothing short of awesome for tradeskilled gear. I'm looking forward to the tradeskillin'.

They Took all of the cultural and build it around the same basics but EVERY race gets a race armor, frogs, cats, half-elfs, its more than just smithing too its silk and lether as well.

Like the previous poster said there are lvls of dificulty from the basic to the reallllly nice armor and the drops you need for each peice scroll up in difficulty as well, im just praying the grandmaster armor doesnt become like augs with the bits and peices being insanely rare and therefor miserably expensive, dont think i can give out ingreditents to use as examples yet but folks will see what i mean soon enough the there where new items i assume only drop in DoN and there are older items for some of the easier sets, each set can be adjusted for religion with there being new imbue spells going in for blassed waters

Baking got some new recipes some building on the GoD sauce's and others that were just fun, theres a new basket recipe or 2 but i didnt play with them enough to get them figured out

Brewing got a few new odds and ends nothing wow wow but still fun(yes i like the silly recipes too "dead frog ale from oow anyone)

new JCing becasue theres a new metal better than velium for JC, has to be refined out of special ore

pottery only new thing i noticed was the breakable bottles to go with the things for the potion belt, but i was never able to get a recipe book for the potions to actully try them

Hope that helps a bit im sorta in a rush atm and still not sure what i can talk about becasue of the nda

First time post here in EQTraders...Woot...

I was disappointed to hear we are not getting a decent pottery upgrade. I'm just starting to look into tradeskilling (I know, I'm a few years too late ) but been following these boards for some time.

I'm not a potter yet, but am I right in thinking pottery hasn't seen a nice upgrade since PoP came out?

And as for Cultural, will they keep the existing cultural as it is, and complement for cats, frogs and half-elves, or did they overhaul the whole system?

            Thanks for your views

Yes, the new pottery was quite a disappointment. However if the trivials on the new bottles stay the same, it will make raising pottery MUCH easier.

              Example:
Unfired Spherical Bottle = Spherical Bottle Sketch, block of clay, sculpting tools, air-infused spring water. Trivial 302. Yield 2. stackable
Spherical Bottle = Unfired Spherical Bottle, High Qualtiy Firing Sheet. Trivial 95, yield 1. stackable

              Spherical Bottle
              Can be used in Tradeskills
              Wt:0.4, Size: small
              Class/Race: All
              Stackable.

Unfired hand-formed bottle = hand-formed bottle sketch, block of clay, sculpting tools, air-infused spring water. Trivial 271, yield 2. Stackable

hand-formed bottle = Unfired hand-formed bottle, High Quality Firing Sheet. Trivial 68, yield 1. stackable

              hand-formed bottle
              Can be used in Tradeskills
              Wt:0.4, Size: small
              Class/Race: All
              Stackable.

I wasn't able to attempt the cultural last time I was on, due to missing pieces, etc. Can't wait to see them though. It looked like a lot of promise...though the sheer amount of components/tools/containers was overwhelming.

I did find a combine for:
Course Silk Swatch = Course Spider Silk x2. Recipe Not learned. Trivial at 250 though. (yes it was spelled that way)

I didn't find a recipe using the swatches though I tried a multitude of different things.

The fletching combines that I was able to do left quite a bit to be desired. There were many recipes....presenting another skill up route (again, if the trivials remain the same), but the resultant arrows and bows stats were nothing to get excited about.

For example, when I last tried fletching about a week ago:

              Rough Dragon Bone 1-Cam Bow.
              Range, Delay 55, Dmg 26,
              Used in Tradeskills
Wt. 3.5 Range 175. Size: Large.
Class: War Pal Rng Shd, Rog.
              Race: All.
              Slot 1, type 4: empty

Rough Dragon 1-Cam Bow = Silk String, Standard Bow Cam, Dragon Ulna. Trivial 275

Dragon Ulna = this item can be used in TS, Wt: 1.5, Size: Medium Class: All Race: All. Stackable.

              Shaped Dragon Recurve Bow (Hemp)
              Slot: Range Skill: Archery

Shaped Dragon Bone Compound Bow (Linen String)

              Delay 45 Dmg 24
              Can be used in TS
              Wt: 4.0 Range:200 Size: Large

Race: All Slot 1, type 4: empty.
              (triv 308)

All of the above is of course subject to change, and won't be confirmed till the expansion is live and the recipes redone. But it gives you an idea.

I have the level 70 version of Vah Shir leather armor made, and ONE of the "symbols" (augments) that goes in it.

These Symbols are what add the real power to the armor, so don't be disapointed at the base stats, consider that a symbol should be added to it, mkaing it better., The one symbol I have a Screenshot of is for agnostic chest (only thing for kitties anyway)

(all cultural pieces have a slot 11 (and a 12 though we don't know whaqt the 12 is for))

                This would make the chest:
                AC50 str+13 dex+5 sta+18 wis+15 int+10 agi+16 hp+145 mana+154 endurance+145
                saves +10
                mana regen+2
                damage shield +2

                for an agnostic BST VAH

Yup. At 250 tailoring I failed a miserable number of times on the chestpiece, but it was far better than anything I was wearing. The augs are also an absurd trivial, but they are what make the pieces really shine. No one had figured out what a type 12 aug was when I last logged in, so the possibility exists to further improve these already great pieces of tradeskilly goodness.

Based on those screenshots I'm assuming that each race makes armor specific to each of it's classes, or at least groups of classes? How specific do the class groupings get?

From what I gathered the new pottery containers were for making the throwable alchemy potion things (possibly stackable versions? never got around to betabuffing a shaman and most zones on beta server are deactivated now)

What is involved in making the symbols? Are there grades of symbols, or just the one type? Can a single GM tradeskiller make symbols, or will it require multiple tradeskillers like the current tradeskilled augments?

I'm going to go postal if this latest expansion doesn't contain at least ONE arrow thats better that the existing ones. The bows so far seem to be the same worthless vendor garbage we saw in OOW. I guess I better get busy and get another tradeskill to 250.... looks like smithing will be my best bet.

I'm trying to gage how much work I'm gonna need to do to adapt my Inventory Manager tool for DoN. Does all the new still have the three augment limit? If you do a /outputfile inventory and look down the column of item id numbers (first number after the item name), what kind of numbers do the new items go up to?
