I, for one, am glad they are keeping the enchanter class ability "Jewelcraft mastery" restricted to enchanters. As an enchanter, I feel a certain amount of usefulness when people come to me for combines, vials etc. Seeing as a majority of our spells are for tradeskilling, I don't think it's much to ask for a little edge in tradeskills. At least there is still some roleplay value left in the game (everyone able to do EVERYTHING is not how this game was first envisioned as) =P

I have no problem with enchanters keeping it, JCM , I personally wanted tailoring mastery, I just feel it is unbalancing to have enchanters to be able to have both. This is hardly a primal scream, it is merely an observation, of a personal nature.

I suspect these will be as useful as the shaman Alchmey AA

My concern is the accuracy of the description of the Ability.

It claims to halve the failure rate, but in the chat channel, I was told in only increases the success rate by 50%...

that is, 50% becomes 75%, this is where the two curves meet
            but 20% becomes only 30%, not 60%
and 95% becomes just 95%, due to the automatic 5% failure chace, not 97.5%.

Eighter way it works is fine, but the Description should be corrected if need be, there is way too much bad information given by the game itself, we don't need more.

"Improves your chance of succeeding on a [tradeskill] combine by up to [number] percent."

              FYI.. yanked from Sony boards...

The AA's you have seen are what customers have pulled off of the test server. As far as I know they were not 'leaked' to get your feedback or to rile or appease anyone. Until they are released to the live servers with the expansion, they are of course subject to be changed. That is why they will be (may already be) on the beta server as well for pepole to test and give feedback on. Until the release of Omens they are not final, regardless of what anyone may claim here unless it is directly from the mouth of a Developer.

Yay! As a Jharin I've wanted pottery AAs, always bugged me there were JC AAs but nothing for anyone else (since JC is not enchanter only).

Hopefully it won't be any more expensive than the JC AAs. hehehe

Well, hopefully it will go live I should say.

Oh, please... for the LOVE of AGNOSTIC....

Maddoc... nail someone's foot to the floor and make JCM universal if the others are. I have a steady diet of Pepto every morning before I check this thread for all the "enchanter hating" going on. Personally I'd even accept the loss of JCM as a "class" level. Some enchanters might like it, as it might drop them from the hated "sage" title back to the beloved "master." (I know people who have 300+ AA point plans to keep the mistress title for their female toons.)

And a quick explaination of the "fix" from when JCM was broken would go a LONG ways. (I posted it, showing how "50% reduction in failure rate" was not equal to "50% increase in success" ... but most people are so bad at math that it went so far over their heads they didn't even see the bottom.)
In My (Not Always) Humble Opinion, except where I quote someone. If I don't know I say so.
I suck at this game, your mileage WILL vary. My path is probably NON-optimal.

I don't think it's fair for chanters to lose a class level AA without something to compensate. I would guess that there were a lack of ideas for chanter AAs at the time, and this was thrown in. It seems reasonable that chanters get another class AA, if this were opened to everyone.

Apparantly, OOW will give us the ability to choose custom titles. We'll see how this works, hopefully soon.

Well... just to be clear... they indicated that you can choose from AVAILABLE titles. I.E. titles you have earned. Not just any title you want to make.

Ah yes. Thanks for the clarification.

That was perfectly evident to me when I wrote it.

Actually, everyone able to do everything (as far as JC goes) is the way it was first envisioned. Everyone could skill up Jewelcrafting. You don't need the enchanted metals to skill up, you can do it with the unenchanted versions that exist for every (at the time) recipe.

It wasn't until the release of AAs that this vision of tradeskills changed and enchanters received this AA that should have been made available to everyone. Enchanters still have a lock on the market for mana vials and enchanting metals.

What this does is change tradeskills from a skill point system to an AA system.

With salvage and a skill mastery and 400 stat-caps, skilling up will cost 1/5 as much (in items) and go twice as fast as it used to.
