In the window you will find an area that has all recipes that are currently available to you. This includes recipes that are at your skill level as well as some above it. Clicking on a recipe will display what items are necessary for its completion.

Hmmm....the first thing I thought when I read the above was, "Could this mean that Brodder's Revenge will be listed with the exact recipe right in front of our eyes come patch day? Hot sauce? The Karana Salad?"

Think of the previously undiscovered recipes that may come to light with this.

I hope this system will come live asap.

Except for smithing (actually 223) and Alchemy (200 still ), I raised all my TS to 250 .

Anything who help me to do the subcombines is a great help. I barely never buy a CVT or a CE.

And the way I understand it, it will automate only one combine at a time.

You'll still have to do your Royal Mints, then your Mature Cheese, etc, etc, etc to finally be able to combine your MTP.

Still a lot of combine to do, but far far far far less clicking on the mouse (my wrist is already praying SoE for this move ).

Will it increase significantly (sp?) the number of tradeskillers ?? I don't know. It will depend on how it's implemented.

Will the "auto-combine" be instant or with a "casting bar" ? I don't know too, but if I read correctly, we will still able to combine the good ol' way if it's faster .

My thoughts too, Stugein. I think that that will be the only good thing to come from this.

The other thought was: What impact would that have on EQTraders? Nobody would need to come here to check trivial recipies. The only need would be for attempting recipies that are above ones skill range.

Niami might be able to go back to being able to play in peace. THAT would be the BEST thing to come from that implementation.

I really hope they implement this, so that a recipe is not in your book, until you actually do the combine successfully yourself.

This will somewhat slow down the people with low skill, since they will probably not make 1 successful combine for a 250+ recipe if they have skill 1.

I would hate to suddenly see all recipes unfolded, including the "unknown" recipes

I'm sorry. I read this about a new tradeskill UI and I suddenly think of SWG's tradeskill interface. I hope this doesn't mean we have to prototype every item we're going to be making in bulk. That or we'll have to invest in tradeskill books or do quests to learn the recipes. I'm sure we'll learn more about how it'll work while it's in testing.

Everyone, hurry up and sell your MTP and such soon.

Not only will making them be a moot point shortly, due to ease of making them in bulk, but this will make everyone a 250 Baker, or brewer, or what have you.

I know that they're ****ed if they do, and ****ed if they don't, but this is going to make skillups VERY easy on the combines that were just repetitive.

And goodbye selling CE for any kind of profit. :-(
I'm sorry, but this is nothing but a good thing for tradeskillers.

I've already gotten 4 to 250. I've never bought any sub-combines from anyone else before. Did that hurt others business?

As has already been stated before. This system will still require all of the subcombines to be done. Just as some folks preferred to purchase components before, they will continue to do so (Especially those with 5 year accounts and nothing better to do with their plat).

Personally, I see this as nothing but a godsend.

One disadvantage I can see however

With the "increased" number of folks trying to work tradeskills, raw materials are going to be highly contested

OK how many people besides me NEVER thought they would hear this? *dodges flying pink elephants*

Back on the subject, not quite sure what I think of the tradeskill changes yet, but not nuts about the new graveyard system...somehow I see people with few brain cells and less IQ points running all around zones just to "check them out" knowing they won't have the consequence of a painful CR if they die and training people right and left in the process.

One option on the tradeskill changes...what do people think about it being set up so that a recipe that is not trivial gets added to your book ONLY WHEN YOU GET A SKILLUP in it? Not sure if this would be a good or a bad thing, but wondering what people think.

I thought the same thing, JMorgana, but on second thought, anybody doing this will have to wait a week to get their corpses back.

                  A week.

I don't see many people who would take the time to level a character to a sufficient level to "explore" a higher level zone, run around, get killed, wait a full week, actually remember to go back to get your corpse...

The people who would do this are the same people who, today, level toons for the sole purpose to send them on suicide runs through dangerous zones they want to check out.

*shrug* So I'm not worrying too much. It won't increase the number of lost bullets.

If you've ever had your system crash and die in the middle of a fight, or if you ever do, you'll probably like the new graveyard system.

I lost my original main on Bertox when my hard drive failed. By the time I replaced it and got everything working again (what a nightmare that was), the corpse was long gone.

No, it isn't a frequent occurance for anyone. But multiply the small probability times the number of people playing the game. I'm sure they'll limit the levels like the old system to avoid a zone full of naked level 1's.

One of my personal pet peeves of the EQ game was (when playing a lower level character) the risk of losing a corpse.

For example, I had my Level 35 Warrior out in GD... I was soloing... picking off an occasionaly wolf. And then I found I was fighting two... I turned and ran. And low and behold a giant or two joins the parade. I was smushed.

OK... So I get to bind (PoK), and get back to GD... and start hunting for my corpse... and hunting... and hunting... I go all around the area and can't find the blasted thing. I have a '/corpse' hot key, and I go around spamming it... I know I am in the right area... but can't find it. It is buried in the snow.

Finally, I see a guild friend get on who has a bard alternate... I have him come out and do the track corpse song... off we go. He stops and says it is here. I look around and see SNOW... not a hint of the corpse. I summon corpse... and pop there it is.

When a body can be so buried... (in snow, in the wall, etc)... or summoned to the mob who gated. The whole party wiped... but I don't have time to stay for the CR, I see the Graveyard as being a GOOD thing.

There have been countless times when I have been with a group, I say "Time for me to go"... and they say "After this mob is down"... and it turns from one mob... into 3... (adds)... and a wipe. Then have to spend another 30-60 minutes on a blasted fricking corpse run.

I admit having to wait a week I think is a bit excessive. Give me the option that after a day (24 hours) or two (48 Hours) the option to make an offering to my Diety to have my corpse pop to the GY at that point...

This makes Sehra so very massively unhappy that baby Jebus is crying.

Wait, I bet this sort of thing won't happen in EQ2! We promise! Tradeskills will be kindergartenish there since the servers open! By the way, have we mentioned that if you buy Lords of Everquest you'll be allowed into the EQ2 Beta? (We call it beta but its really Alpha, since the first 2 years of live release will be beta.)

I dont think this will happen. Sony are always going on about the storage limitation of characters, if the recipy book is like this then they will have to store info about which recipies (and there are 100s) a character has done. multiply this for EVERY character, on EVERY server!

actually there are thousands of recipes... and thousands of items that can be created (some using different recipes).

With regards to space... there are ways... they added 8 new bank slots... and then 2 shared bank slots.
