But there are REAL pirates in Norrath too, not just the gnomes in Iceclad -- they're based at Broken Skull Rock (the whole of the Legacy of Ykesha expansion, basically)...

I believe the omelet du fromage is a Steve Martin reference from his stand up.
Kinda like the justice fruit pies was a reference to the Powerpuff Girls that they probably had to change for fear of being sued.

Or a reference to Hostess Fruit Pies...a VERY common advertisement from the 70s/80s...

It's probably just the liver itself, no need to pate it. If you can figure out all of the other meats, it's worth a shot, at least.

Treant hearts = Elddar forest treants

Horse meat = Unicorns and Pegasus in Elddar.

I missed what the recipie was supposed to be for nest dragon meat, I have 4 meats I can experiment on if people want to give me an idea.

The "Justice Fruit Pies" skit on Dexter's Lab (not PowerPuff Girls) was specifically a spoof of the old Hostess Fruit Pies ads.

In Olde English, an Apothecary is a Medicine or Treatment.

Not that I'm personally going anywhere with this... I don't know what it is or would be. But it might be the kind of clue someone needs.

                apothecary:

One that prepares and sells drugs and other medicines; a pharmacist.

It is possible. There is no requirement that people put their finds on this board.

There is a requirement of "no teasing". Which means someone should not put a finished result on the board without sharing the info on making the product (if it's not known)... or at least sharing the source of one's info (I found it digging in Lucy, etc.).

double post killing this one since the one below has the full text

ok well i have found 5 of the pages, there seems to only be 5. i only have the test of 4 since i delted one .

Elddar forest -- in the cornner of the building of the giant "house" in the far west of the zone.
Ruins of tak-his -- this one is kinda hard to find and i have only found it up once, abd i belive i have found it north east behind the towers where the trents gather.
Arcstone -- east of the ruins port in on the lowest level
Relic -- by the most Northeastern "piller" in the "bazaar" area
The devistation -- SE part of the center "block" that repersents the severage zone.

                  "For the Jokes so bad
Gather two of the milk so processed
and two of the older regressed
and simply add the apothecary mixed
                  of dryad that we missed"

"Far between the mountains of bad breath
lies cheese and bread with fillings of red,
hearts of trees powdered white and scorched,
and the young of lizards boiled and dead
while vegetables are frozen and torched.

All shall join in the challenge with the four
to make one's tummy happy and sore."

"To get to the meat of the matter
Include the apothecary of one with a shell
The muscles of dragons so wet
Stone lizards ground in a gut so well
The heart of trees wrapped tight
More of the dragons who roost at home
Make the ones you ride slippery and stinky
Once more to the nest with a drake in tripe
And of the last two grill away
                  Beast of the mountaintop
And wolf of war and discord "

                  "Of the brainless we speek
when we use the heads of green in threes
the red and green eye we do need
grill red and spicy as you see
with four so deeply fungal a breed
And do not forget the best of all
so round and red to cap it tall"

them be the only 4 i have, when i find the 5th again (tak-his one) i will post the text from that

ok so then assuming that the tunrpbra liver is correct, lets see what we have

Include the apothecary of one with a shell = liver of turtle
The muscles of dragons so wet = ??
Stone lizards ground in a gut so well = baslisk sausage
More of the dragons who roost at home = drake sausage?
The heart of trees wrapped tight = trent heart dealy in fry your food i think
Once more to the nest with a drake in tripe = nest drake saussage
Make the ones you ride slippery and stinky = buttered horse meat
And of the last two grill away
                  Beast of the mountaintop
And wolf of war and discord " = ok no duh, grilled cragbeast meat, and grilled hynid meat.

so the thereecticaly it would be somthing like

truprna liver + ?? + baslisk sausage + (2) nest drake sausage + fryed trent heart + buttered horse meat +grilled gragbeast meat + grilled hynid meat.

the only question left is wtf is wet dragon meat?

The heart of trees wrapped tight == treat heart sausage? could be interesting

                  Q

did you try to make them into sausages? you know the treant heart ( or grilled trent heart) into the sausage casing with the salt and whatnots?

yes but having a drop that can only drop from 2 mobs with a 5 day respawn that higher end guilds dont want to do at all, and having another drop that "can" drop from a total of 6 mobs in the entire game is a bit much dont you think?

Something has to be done about this. Im ok with the fact that we keep same ingredient, but they have to be more common drop at least from DoN dragons. No clue about the sea dragon meat drop.
                  nest dragon meat --
so far i have seen it drop off kess and rikk, however i have never seen it drop off yarlir or vish.

sea dragon meat -- in theroy this would drop off any "sea dragon" which would include, CS dragon, TD static dragon, the 2 dragons in SS neer the very top (i think there quest dragons? or around there) and the 2 dragons in VP thats up around the "end" mob with about 50 roamers around there

i did not say trigered i sait static aka the one that acualy spawns in the zone and despawns later on, sorry if that was confusing

got 2 horse meat from killing i think 4 horse moddled mob in TOB last night, dont remember the mobs names but i know they where different there for any horse in TOB should drop it

are curently the 2 lines of text that are holding use up atm from what i see. now mabey the first line is NOT sea dragon meat, but rather some other odd combine that requires you to make the muscles of dragons wet? like umm dragon soup or somthing?

why not try the nest drake meat insted of the nest dragon meat? there is little or no refference to it being ACVUALY from the dragons

narith, sea dragon meat IS water dragon meat.

"To get to the meat of the matter

And wolf of war and discord "

is the text for the whole meats. for the parts we in theroy dont know are
The muscles of dragons so wet
More of the dragons who roost at home
Once more to the nest with a drake in tripe

                  so looking at this logicaly,

the first can be: sea(water) dragon meat (or any form there of) dragon meat (or any form there of) nest dragon meat (or any form there of) or nest drake meat (or any form there of). Idealy this would be sea dragon steaks, nest dragon steaks, buttered nest dragon meast (it makes sense), nest drake steaks, or buttered nest drake meat.

the second can be: nest dragon meat (or any form there of), dragon meat(or any form there of) or nest drake meat (or any form there of). idealy since it says home, this is cut down to the "nest" dragon stuff via the text. since the text doesnt specfy how its "cooked" it can either be the same as the first, or just the simple slab of meat.

the third is very, very excate. and says that we go again to the nest for nest drake meat in a saussage casing, aka nest drake saussage.

Or if I should alter some drop tables. Yes I am still not going to confirm if you guys have been correct or not
as it was stated before, the nest dragon meat is fine, IF you have yar lir/vish drop them, and you up the drop rate a little bit.

as for the 2ed item why not make it HEHE meat, or another darkhollow meat. there be bat, and orc as the 2 idealy "tasty" most people wont ever see the darkhollow bat meat since they dont kill bats anywhere but in demiplane of blood. yet it is possable to obtain it with out being demiplane flaged (find fibblebrap arc, and a few mobs in stoneroot falls)

Unless I'm mistaken, pate is made from liver....which would make perfect sense in the context. There's 3 known types of pate, Potameid and Panther along with the Dryad. I wonder if this could be a reference to a potameid?

Is it possible that the dryad meat is supposed to be combined using alchemy or poisonmaking and on the same note could the second apothecary be referring to a poison sack?

                            Nope. That's why I'm asking.

"Muscles of dragons so wet" - Could this be basilisk tongues? Someone said that basilisks were dragons and the ones in Darkhollow are found in the water and a tongue is wet anyway. Has anyone tried this?

Nevermind. Basilisk tongues aren't marked Tradeskill anymore.

Everyone is complaining that the meats are too hard to come by and telling him to look into it, but did anyone think maybe we're on the wrong track? Maybe it's not Sea Dragon Meat - "muscles of dragons so wet" could mean any number of muscles. I know that tongues and hearts drop off many mobs. I don't however know the loots of dragons very well. Does anyone know of any muscles that drop off dragons or ones that drop off mobs that could be considered dragons in the folklore that are tagged for tradeskills?

I like to rely on my gut instinct for a lot of tests, and my first impression of this note...

"Far between the mountains of bad breath
lies cheese and bread with fillings of red,
hearts of trees powdered white and scorched,
and the young of lizards boiled and dead
while vegetables are frozen and torched.

All shall join in the challenge with the four
to make one's tummy happy and sore."
is not that it is a seperate recipe, but rather a note indicating the other four should be combined with each other with the addition of a bread of some sort. Remember the Earring of Soltice? We had books indicating recipes, with an additional book indicating they should all be combined together.

Could the possibility of another recipe be a red herring?

It looks like Pickled Dragon is not the key, and Sea Dragon Steaks may be.

This has been discovered for 3 weeks now.

As I posted above, Sea Draon Steaks are now flagged for tradeskills. so, if it isn't for this, what is it for?

I'm betting all of the challenges combine into one very nice meal that makes a Picnic basket or hero feast pale in comparison.

I think you may be looking too hard for the dragons that nest at home.

For that I suggest instead you try the wyverns that nest above the ottmirs and seals/walruses.
