I already posted about it in database submissions, Froni. I started cussing in a few different languages when I noticed the garlic on the Abysmal vendor. Try taking a human paladin of Mithaniel Marr into Neriak to buy stuff from the Rogue's guild, no less, and you'll understand my frustration. Luckily, my vah shir rogue with dark elf illusion was able to wander in and buy me a couple of stacks, but still.

Oh, and searching in /barter for "soy" brings up zero results, which means the soy sauce is either no-drop or not yet discovered in-game on Luclin.

Well, Absor posted in another thread that the Large pot obtained from teh rogue vah shir quest was a mistake and would be corrected next patch, so that's a relief...now if only he can look into this soy sauce issue...

Bah! Keep it as a Large Stewing Pot! If I had to do it that way, everyone else should, too!

(Just kidding...there are only like 3 people in the world that I would honestly want to subject to having to do that quest just for the pot...and they don't play EQ. )

            EQ imitates life maybe?

Soy sauce is a fermented sauce, made from soybeans, roasted grain, water and sea salt.

            So maybe it's made with:
            Some bean item ?
some grain-based item (maybe Burnt Loaf Of Bread, that even ts flagged?)
            water flask
some salt item (maybe Bag Of Sea Salt)

I knew they were going to do it, but I had fun creating a new Vah Shir Rogue and getting him through the first 3 steps of the quest, then raising his baking into the 217 range for the combine. Guess I'm in need of some serious psychiatric help

You think that's bad - I made a kitty rogue to make the recipe about 10 months ago just to try triggering the quest. Lvl 6 rogue with a large stew pot and baking at 200+ (and I can't two box - irk).

Having problems 1) finding owlbear cubs (apparently, 4 spawns MAX if owlbears control North and East.) and 2) getting the fatty owlbear meat. I have 1/6 so far...after 3 hours camping them.

I hope that there is a decent reward from the chef. If not, they AT LEAST need to change this recipe to require a normal pot, instead.
Actually, five or six owlbear cubs spawn constantly in the low level part of Paludal Caverns. This explains why everyone was hogging them.

It astonishes me that people still don't realize the fastest place to level lowbies is PC starting from level 5, not level 15.

AFAIK, the cubs in Paludal don't drop the Fatty Owlbear Meat...only the random droppable items (Owlbear Meat, pelts, etc.)

Edit: BTW, there are 3 owlbear spots in Paludal. One (at the end of the northbound hallway from the south lake) spawns 4 stationary cubs. The second (between the large lake area and the norhtern set up tunnels) spawns 3, also stationary. The last (far north section, where the Reishicyben (spelling?) spawns) has cubs (1 or 2) that walk in and around the water.

I could not find any recipes with "soy" in the name in an oven, mixing bowl, or brew barrel. Unless someone has a bright idea on where to get Soy Sauce, I'm stuck.
No hits for "sauce" or "bottle" on the brew barrel either.

Maybe we use Hot Sauce to make the Soy Sauce...

edit: ok, seriously... here's the best list of decent Soy Sauce ingredients I could find... with possible matches to in-game items...

                          Sugar - Cup of Sugar
                          Water - Flask of Water
                          Garlic - Ground Garlic
                          Vinegar - Vinegar
Salt Spices - Sea Salt, or just Spices

there's also Miso (soybeans, rice, salt) and a naturally brewed Soy Sauce... (water, wheat, soybeans, salt)

                          good luck!
