  • Summary?

Is there a summary for the information presented progressively through this thread as it's being discovered?

Or could someone, who's actually been following and understanding the information in detail, post a summary?

What's the record for a recipe being possible, but nobody having found it the hard way? And does SOE ever relent and actually tell us the recipe, in a case like this?

The veggies one was pretty annoying...how did that one get found? By accident, or did they finally spell it out?

    • I recall the Lemming Fur backpacks recipe was given to Denmom to post. Bristlebanes Party Platter took a long time too and they eventually changed Gimmel's text to nearly spell it out for us.

I've tried this combine with every other sauce type item including the wierd ones from the otters. I even did the brewing freebie quest for those items and still nothing.

              • What about a jug of sauces combined with one of the various bottles. Since it says sauces (plural), maybe we need to decant the soy sauce from the rest of the sauces in the jug?

If that is the case, there might be a 3rd ingredient since it'd be logical that you could produce other sauces from said jug... or maybe they all use different bottles and that's why the recipe specifies a small bottle. The unfortunate part of this theory is that there aren't very many combinable bottles in game. :/

I've also ran around GoD and asked most friendly NPCs, "What soy?" and "How do I make soy sauce?" to no avail.

                • I don't think there has been a baking addition after PoP that's been worth our time. All that time I was waiting for the discovery of something good made from Taelosian Wheat ... I'm still waiting ... I'm not sure why they put it in the game, apparently bakers don't need finished content.

I had gotten all excited when I found out about recipes requiring Nest Dragon Meat - a rare drop from a high level raid mob, only to be sorely disappointed, in fact they're a joke. I put in time to get/make the items required for the recipes, only to find i wasted my time - i could have been making picnics or similar stat items, some designer obviously thought it was a funny joke.

I feel bad for all the people that have faithfully worked on this quest since it came out. I had made some sandwhiches and kabobs and stored em on a mule, didn't want to lose my wok and never got around to farming shissar eggs I read in the patch message that chowderly would talk to you now, how many years that fix take?, and thought I would go ahead and do the quest to see what you get. Oh suuuuure the small bottle of soy sauce is in game, I'll believe that when I buy it from the merchant that sells it. Until then I'll just assume baking once again gets the shaft from soe

However I know from doing my epic 1.5 that some items take some time to find, it took a while for someone to find the merchant that sold the Gemming Tool mold. In the spirit of the dedication shown here I'm assuming the soy sauce was added with the patch that fixed chowderly. If so then lets get a list of what zones that people have checked every merchant in ...

                  • The recipe for soy sauce is probably something like combine spell: great divide portal, paineel newsletter 6 part 3a, wok and an ebon crystal, only works in ice cream churn and only in hate's fury adventure / mission. And someone will figure it out "randomly" after another 5 years and the quest can be completed, resulting in primary slot item with +13 CHA, named "A Large Spoon".

On a more serious note, does anyone have access to the item ID database or something like that, that was used in helping solve bunch of epics, Karana's Heartfruit Salad, etc..?

                      • I dont see anyone having mentioned Distilled Salt
Since this is a GoD era recipie Distilled Salts would fit the bill. (Ground spawn in Natimbi) Not flagged as tradeskillable but it is flagged as Combinable. (god forbid SOE confuse a quest combine item with a tradeskill combine item)

Also "A Large Salt Crystal" off a grimling Runt. (Again, combinable w/o being flagged tradeskill, luclin era)

There's also Saltwater Seaweed (Velious era)

                          • Distilled salt is already used for the tongue quest in GoD, you combine the various no drop tongues found in the expansion with a salt in a container give you by the quest giver and it results in a flesh sample you give back. I believe you have to collect one tongue from every model in the expansion.

Since when do things have to be used for one thing only? I'm aware of the quest, just thought someone might try it.
