  • Package of Vegetables?

I apologize if this has already been covered.. I've been searching several sites for the last half hour and can't find any answers... Has anybody found the recipe for the packagae of vegetables? And do they work in recipes in place of the veggies?

    Thanks,

Yes, I've been searching all over for info on Package of Vegetables. Recipe to make it, and recipes which use it.

The patch message implies that players REQUESTED it. Anyone know what that's all about? That might give us a hint: Were people asking for a way to stack stacks of veggies? Sorta like being able to make a ten pound hynid meat...

I know I get tired of shovelling ten stacks of veggies into my shared bank, displacing everything else, just so I can make a few GoD recipe products. A stack of stacks would help.

Or diversifying the recipes for GoD a bit, replacing half the veggie recipes with nearly-unused roots, for example.

(I still think foraging SOE developers just wanted to get rich from veggies)

I don't know what the recipe is or how it works, but when I get in game, I would try putting 2-10 vegetables (unstacked, of course) into an oven and combining, see if any of those work.

I'd also try a mixing bowl, though obviously that only holds up to four unstacked veggies at a time.

Depending on how you interpret a "package", you might need to get some kind of string or bag in there to wrap it up -- ever see packages of lettuce or cabbages in a supermarket? They often come bagged up or wrapped in string or something.

Any other viable containers to test this in?

Yes, I tried mixing bowl first, then oven, and nothing worked.

For a "package of vegetables" to be useful, it needs to hold 2-10 veggies (no container has more than ten slots, so we can assume for now that a package won't contain more than 10 veggies) and be stackable. Otherwise, it would not be an improvement over a normal stack of veggies. Presumably, you can easily convert a batch of veggies into a package, and you can easily convert a package back into normal veggies.

OK, let's formalize this. Please list all recipes you've actually tried, so we can try and nail this down. Here's what I've tried. All DNC. Stuff like 1-4 means I tried 1, 2, 3, and 4.

1-10 vegetables, unstacked, in an oven
1-4 vegetables, unstacked, in a mixing bowl
1-9 vegetables, unstacked, plus a Hemp Twine, in an oven
1-9 vegetables, unstacked, plus a Silk String, in an oven
1-9 vegetables, unstacked, plus a Linen String, in an oven

Edit: Oh, and putting stacked items in an oven still produces an error message, so it's not as simple as putting a stack of veggies in an oven and combining.

with the hint in the patch message about spiderling silks being used in so many 'new' recipes, perhaps a silk thread or more likely a silk cord will work. I'd try it myself, but the servers are down again *grumbles* and I'll be working all weekend. If it hasn't been checked by my next day off though I'll go at it.

I don't think that was hint for new recipes, he ws just acknowledging that more reciples called for spiderling silk or silk thread than used to...

For giggles, attempted to combine 10 veggies in a folded bearskin potion bag (you know, thinking maybe it would be a no tradeskill hit like the poison making item for the shawls, but did attempt it on a shaman) - Did Not Combine..

I tried 1, 2 and 3 vegetables with silk thread and none worked either. unfortunatly i haven't had much time to play lately, due to work and the Christmas season, so I haven't had much chance to work on it.

edit: I tried the combines in the mixing bowl.

You all seem to be overlooking 1 possibility. In pok they sell vegetables called something like freshly washed veggies or something along those lines anyways. Has anyone checked them out?

hmmm...like we try combining those, instead?

I'm in the middle of trying to hit 200 in brewing in Abysmal Sea, or I'd go check it out right now. Has anyone else tried this?

Do we have any idea what those are for, in general? Do they have a "tradeskill" flag on them?

                          Mixed Veggies

I never really translated the new Package of Vegetables to mean an easier way to store stacks of vegetables. What I had hoped it meant was an end to my having to buy out the entire supply of vegetables in the bazaar to do over 300 crabmeat or tuna souffles...that maybe with just the right combination of vendor purchased vegetables I could come up with this package replacement.

I planted myself in Abysmal Sea and bought assorted vegetables that they sold...turnips, carrots, hot pepper, green pepper...and I think there was one other available there, but I can't remember it off hand. I used a bowl and tried various combinations. No luck. I still think that there is a possibility there...but I'm still stumped at the moment.

Hope this helps somebody figure it out before I have all the foragers on the Morrell-Thule server giving up xp for the big money to be made selling vegetables to me

I only had a couple minutes to try some combines. I tried the freshly washed vegetables in a mixnig bowl, spit and brew barrel. when using 1 2 3 And 4, i was getting the "You can't combine these in that container type". That's all I was able to try unfortunatly. Will see if I can do some more after work.

depending on trival did you try looking it up in the UI for vegetables?? They may have listed it as an learned recipe and no need to search for it. Try an oven and a mixing bowl.
