For some reason I have Fish Rolls and Sushi grouped together in my mind. When I make them in game I imagine I am making sushi, when I see sushi in RL I am thinking they are fish rolls (and call them that).
I am ROFL at these posts, they are great and make me feel "not alone". Thanks all.Arfyak Reflux

You know you play....
I don't know many people who play eq or other online games. But I do say send me a tell alot. And I don't think I have ever gotten a strange look.
Except at my national Guard unit. Cause one of the guys plays eq as well and we talk about it alot.
We spent a whole year in Iraq with no Internet and We never ran out of stuff to talk about. We used just about everything (mainly to give us giggles at the way others looked at us and couldn't figure out what we were talking about.)
We'd see a nasty critter nearby and one of us would say "DoTing target" (throw a rock at it)
Talked about zoning when ever we moved. IE Zoning into tent. Zoning to Sh$#^rs (sorry that what we call them and if you don't understand thats ok too) Zoning to the hole (smoking pit) Zoning to bazaar (the little PX they set up. PX=military store) Talked about faction with one of the girls. In front of her of course.(my buddie liked her but she was not interested)
Tried to figure out what the AC on our Kevlars and Vests were.
Damage and proc of our weapons. (the MK-19 was the best with a proc of a few K DD. the Mk-19 is a belt fed, mounted, grenade launcer. esily launch 100 rounds a minute over 2000meters away. Highly explosive and you would take DD in a 35 meter circle.
We had to camp the phones (there were like 5 and some went down all the time.)
Had to camp the PX as there was always a line
Had to camp the showers "" ""
I named My humvee Fippy Darkpaw. Took a sharpy and wrote it in 4 inch leters on the windshiled. Fippy on the passenger side and Darkpaw on the drivers. Had to write it backwords on the inside so it didn't get washed off when we cleaned the grim off. Had a few soldiers from other units bust up laughing when they saw us roll by.
I use No problem all the time. Used it before EQ. Never get looks.
There was a lot more. I even Crafted a iron short sword while there to scare away the mobs that would suround us and beg for stuff. (never hit anyone and it didn't have an edge just looked like it the way I shined it up. Made it outa some flat bar stock. The metal took maybe a few hours to cut the end in a 45 and shine up the whole thing then give the edge a mirror finish like it was honed. Took a few days to carve a hilt outa some black walnut i got off of a PALLET.... Got the basic shape then cut it in half with the chop saw. then carved the rest out with nife and chisle. Wish I wouldn't have forgoten it in the borrowed humvee we were using for convoy missions.
RaoRao's gear
Retired from EQ on or around Septemeber 06.
Harp's gear
PS. Molto Has retired. EQ2 has lured core group away.
I quit the game I loved because it wasn't anymore. Guilds allowing farmers in because they could do a lot of damage in raids.
SoE not really doing anything about farmers, macroquesters ect.
Still Some of my favorite times spent online happened in Norath. The friends and mobs I remember fondly.

Ohhh I say EQ'isms too...
My best one was, my sister asked me the name of the state park near our house and I replied Innathule Swamp (last time I was there it reminded me of that zone sooooo much)....I got the wierdest stare
I also eat "rat sandwichs" at work for my lunch....that started cause a fellow player asked what I had for lunch one day..now its the standard response
Told A non eq player that I was camping the vending machine, had dropped my coins in and was trying to decide which artery clogging, sugar laden goodie I wanted.

It's days like this I don't feel like I'm the only one that suffers from making a minor ass of themselves. My most memorable slip were
1.) In the middle of a business meeting with some of my coworkers all of whom play. I whispered to one of my guildmates "I'd kill to /q right now" Apparantly my Thieves Cant, a very hushed whisper I hoped wasn't going to be noticed. Was understood by the person who'd called the meeting, without missin a beat she responded with "Anyone that goes L-D will not be paid for their time"
2.) My roomate at the time is hammering a picture hanging into a wall, and he manages to hit himself pretty hard with a hammer. I laughed and told him not to "Fail trivial combines" to which he responded if I didn't S-T-F-U I was gonna get harmtouched with a hammer
3.) I got pulled over by a police officer for running a red light. It was yellow I swear it was!! But when he tells me what I'm getting a ticket for I asked him deadpan if he was on dial up or cable. When he gave me a funny look, and inquired why I was asking him that. I had to tell him that if he'd upgrade to highspeed he wouldn't have lagged and missed the light being yellow. Speaking of cops...
My Fiance and I were going to the store last week and he was driving. We were coming around a corner where a cop has been known to sit trying to catch speeders. I pointed up ahead and without even a second thought said "Don't forget that cop that camps up here." I didn't even think anything of it til he started laughing and repeated what I said.Oonna Wynterbreeze - 61 Enchanter

My best friend also plays EQ so when we are on the phone its common to hear tapping (keyboard typing) in he backround dead silence on the phone..its hard to type one conversation and talk a totally diferent one. Then one of us saying "forget it, just shoot me a tell"
Altho the worst look i got was from my LT when i said "INC AOE" as i tossed a grenade into a house...

Ok.. I have to admit.. I've totally warped my whole family. Since I started playing 3 years ago, I've not so slowly introduced my 12 & 13 year old sons to EQ, and my DH finally got into it this past February. EQ'isms fly around our house ALOT. And they've carried over to the kids Playstation gaming, and our driving down the road, and our grocery shopping...
I think one of the funniest eq'isms that has been used around our family, visiting my parents house (and also at my 87 year old grandmother's) When I'm in the kitchen Baking something, I've heard my kids say "Mom's tradeskilling again."

My kids got me into EQ about a year ago, and already I relate alot of RL stuff to the EQ world. Yesterday, I woke from a nap stating "I have become better at napping... 255". Heh, guess I am a master at more than baking now! But I think the funniest eq'isms are when we are with my sisters and one of the boys shouts "TRAIN TO ZONE" as my youngest nephew, now 3 years old, chases them down the hall.kadasi

public embarrasment
Ok - I have been tradeskilling a lot lately (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it).
I woke up one morning early and rushed some precombines for Halas pies before my partner and I set off to do the Saturday morning grocery shopping as usual.
My mind was obviously elsewhere when he said :"What size egss do you want?" He was obviously wanting guidance on whether to buy the 55g, 60g or jumbo 70g eggs.
I shot back with "Get the Basilisk eggs - they make more."
Too much baking ..... too much baking.Lnnolanwil
