  • You know you bake in EQ too much when...

My friend and I moved into a new apartment this last weekend. We've made our first food run and are feeling all grown-up-like.

So I pull a can of green beans out of the cabinet, and think to myself, "Hm, I wonder what I can make with green beans... Well, can I just do a search and see what recipes it's used in--"

    /blank-stare

    /facepalm.

I think I will make a ham sandwich instead...

    You're not alone

Okay... WAAaayyy back when the boats were basic to travel, it was customary for people to /ooc 'Boat' when it arrived...

I distinctly remember saying in RL 'Boat.' to an empty room and realizing that just MAYBE I was playing a bit much.

Let's not forget when I was windexing a display case, and I couldn't reach the paper towels.

Lilosh says "You will not evade me, Paper Towels!!". (*reaches over and grabs the towels*)

And yes, I actually said it. Out loud. Luckily, nobody was nearby.

Hehe... well.. I've said "Hail!" to a professor...

Once physically waved at the computer to say hi to guildies while someone else was playing on my comp...

I call my cat a "Minion of Underfoot" from time to time... (even worse I tried to explain this to my mom one day)...

I'm sure I have others but I'm half asleep

          Me too! <sheepish grin>

I've answered RL questions with "Aye" or "Nay" causing a raised eyebrow or two...

At that point you can either bust out your best Shrek/Mike Myers and try and make like you meant to do it, or act like it's perfectly natural!

I keep my compass to the upper left in my screen. So I was walking thru K-Mart one day and wanted to find the door. I naturally looked up and to the left to see which way north was......

I've been skilling up on some of the GoD tuna recipes lately and for these new ones, I often make a detailed list on a little notepad beside my computer. Last month my husband said "I don't think I will be able to get everything you wanted from the grocery store," and it turns out he was looking at my Buttered Tuna Cakes shopping list. . . .

Wanted to find something in the grocery store the other day, figured I could just hit backspace and look at the map.

Would be nice to be able to search for recipes like that though

                  One more

Also, at work, I've needed information from other people, and asked them to 'Send me a tell' when they have it.

So far no people dressed in white with butterfly nets have shown up... but I know where my zone-outs (exits) are just in case.

OK now I have the giggles

I seem to say Aye and Nay a lot myself.

Really wished I could track people in the grocery store, superstores, or the mall (and have often compared the lag in PoK to the cattle behavior in the mall where I also can't move as freely as I would like.)

Think Martin is going to be called "Minion of Underfoot" very shortly (that was good for a chortle)

OK I haven't said it aloud, but while cleaning the litterboxes I have thought "Kitties like you have ruined your own lands, you will not ruin mine."

Have been happy that my RL pets can zone between rooms with me.

And probably the worst thing is thinking how handy snare or root would be when trying to catch up with a colleague in the hallways.

I've looked for compasses in RL. I remember a couple times not knowing where we were going in the car and saying outloud "hit backspace" (good thing husband plays too). I've said things like LOL outloud. My new thing is when my toddler (husband too!) gets something dirty I'll say something like "you've ruined your own socks, you will not ruin mine!"

                        EQ-ism

I was with my mom in the grocery store, and she told me to get flour. Without thinking about it I asked, "How many stacks?" She thought I was nuts.

When I was watching kids at a neighbor's birthday party, and an uninvited kid from the neighborhood showed up and joined the fun, I turned to the host and told him, "You got an add." He also thought I was nuts.

Someone asked me how old I was, and I said, "52", which was my level at the time. I'm nowhere near 52 in real life.

Someone on the phone asked to talk to my dad and he was coming in from the yard. I told the caller, "hang on, he's still zoning." I got silence.

Maybe I need to get out more. Where's the zone edge?

IRL track would be a godsend.

And never try to keep up with Kiztent, he's got an RL Bardspeed hack. And he ain't sharing. (Do you know how handy that would be, trying to get across campus?)

WR bags and lev (and gate!) would have been wonderfully handy when moving out of the dorm this last week (not to mention when I have to move back IN in the fall... it'll be UPhill then >_<).

I have looked for compasses... wished for maps (unfamiliar mall ! ), and I wouldn't mind knowing an RL cleric who could cast RGC on me (the cyst in my earlobe is acting up again, owie).

Once, Piff and I were both playing EQ over one spring break (IE, too much free time and waaaay too much EQ), and she said she had gotten something spiffy... and I said, "say rock on".
She didn't even bat an eye.

I have a little 36" high fridge, and the door-hinge is reversable. Right after I got it, three school years ago, I wanted to switch from opening on the right to opening on the left. I got the directions, read them, got the tools, and set to it... after a while, it was proving a tad unweildy, and I commented to the air, to no one in particular... "Sheesh, this fridge is so hard to edit!"

I've been known to tell my son and his playmates that if they don't slow down I'll snare and root them! If only in rl you could!

WR bags would be a great thing. I do a lot of rpgs offline too, as well as being an artist. Books are heavier than bricks. It isn't that I'm not strong enough to carry around my supply of materials, it's that the bags can't handle it. One of them just had a shoulder strap break.
