This is a known issue and Ngreth is looking into it. You will probably find Hearty Goblin Blood after he figures out what's wrong.

ok, i think you are all over-reacting way to much to this change. true, i hated to loose all my "known" recipes. but in all seriousness, i think this new system looks really good! i mean, sow potions in a single dose... and they can stack and not have to be combined as a single 10? that is freakin kewl inspite of all this complaining. i think if you all give this system a chance and a few more weeks to get the final bugs worked out and the recipes all discovered, alchemy will be an even better business than before.

someone above stated they've been playin a sham most of they carear in EQ. my sham was my first character, over 6 yrs ago now. and the more of these combines and recipes i do, the more i like this system. so i give Ngreth two thumbs up for its design. and i also give him two more thumbs up for his quick attention to the problems (such as lack of the goblin blood and the shade essence). if all dev's were so quick to take responsibility and please the folks of EQ, this game would be alot better. /salute Ngreth

Everything you said, I agree with...am enjoying the discovery process and since my first toon was not a shammy, this is really a cool thing for me to sit and work out. I love puzzles...I may get frustrated, but I still have fun...and that is what I am paying for. My only prob is the ppl who want do the price gouging on some of the new items like the hearty gobling blood and robust shadow essence to name a couple. These things are easy to get...and imho, fun too. Most mobs in some places may be green, but when you owe someone of a lower level an xp group...you have the makings of one nice little farm fest =) Kudos to the new system...lets me get out more and actually get xp while farming!

            Robust Shadow Essence

if this is used for low lvl's trivel potion's you'd think it should be found in a lower lvl zone the greig's.

Actually, they're not -- the potions that use these dropped components seem to have a trivial of 200 or greater.

                Slightly upset

I would have to say im not real happy with the change in the alchemy system i have been working on getting my grandmasters satchel for quite some time now, well needless to say i cannot even finish off the last 15 points or so i need to make it because i have no clue on recipes or when they will be available. Now what i really dont want to see as a reply is someone saying "well go find the books and fiqure it out." i neither have the time or the patience for it i do have a life other than EQ even though at times it doesnt seem like it. I do have a list of about 5 255 trivial recipes in mymedicine bag but at the prices people want for the foraged crap i may as well go get all my other tradeskills up first.

There are very few tradeskills that I know of that everyone can hit 300 in without having some dropped/foraged items -- so your expectations seem rather unrealistic...

I know how you feel Ozzcat. I'm not to excited about the changes either. I tried camping GE with friends, killing everything in and around the Court yard, for 2 hours for the Exceptional Shade Essence and didn't get any. Then lastnight tried camping the Hearty Goblin Blood for 1.5 hours, with the same friends that must think I'm nuts, and again not a one. We were killing every thing around the Nurga zone line. I've always had very bad luck getting any drop I have wanted. Never getting good drops means I don't have pp to buy in bazaar either.

I agree with this, the drop item's I don't mind at all, it's that there to rare to get.

I was trying to make the mist of wolf II for freshmen alchemy trophy and was following the book, the rubish shadow essence is in a zone I can't live in get to alive let alone farming for it, and once I did find it in bazaar they wanted 250 plat for it cause it's so rare :-(

other 300 trivial tradeskill items result in something that will last more than 8 to 30 min when you activate it . . like a bow or a hat or a dairy spoon so your support of a time sink farming items for a tradeskill requirement to skill up on is also unrealistic, imo.

Ngreth why is the Mist of the Wolf I potion have a triv of 250? I ran into this trying to make the wolf II for the freshman trophy, but with the Triv so high I don't beleave I can even make the Mist of the Wolf II.

Ozzkat, I would recommend working on Type IX Plane of Knowledge Distillates. You need Deepwater Inks which can be farmed from mermaids in Kedge Keep. As a 70 shaman, with some elemental armor they were easy to solo. Go down the central shaft in Kedge, take the East side gate (maybe West, but pretty sure East) and you can set up a rotation that will keep you busy, and have a pretty good drop rate. The type IX have a 302 trivial.

Or you can do type X (trivial 350, I think), which is Nodding Blue Lily, a drop from frogs in Sebilis.

Both locations have other items drop that can make you about a 1000 PP an hour so you get the drop items, plus enough to pay for the other parts. Then you can sell the potions in the bazaar, usually at a profit.

What's not to like about that?

rofl why you tell me to go to kedge to farm drops when i dont even have a clue on what the freaking recipes are or even where to find them, what you said to me makes no sence in the grand scheme of I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT THE RECIPES FOR ANYTHING ARE. oh except for mayby the 4 darkblue recipes that show up in my bag recipes, but none of them go to the level i need. really should have finished this back when you only needed skill of 200 to get the grandmaster satchel dealy. oh and i dont have elemental armour sorry some of us arent lucky enough to have a guild that raids constantly to get tehre the farthest ive gotten is sol ro tower flagged. oh and i was really speaking of sow potions since cant find a recipe for it i cant even make them for my pally or any other toons much less make them for others. and ok yes i could see where doing the distillates and such will raise skill but as i said cant even make a sow potion. hope i made sense and yes im ranting it just pisses me off that now once again we have to hunt down and fiqure out the recipes AGAIN.

p.s. please dont correct my punctuation i dont really feel the need to be thorough on it this isnt english class

oh my other question would be since they can buy those potions on the potion vendors what good is it to make them will they even sell? im sure they will have to be priced higher than the ones on the alchemy vendors just to try and make back any plat i dump into them. oh and yes those are good for skillups but at level 60 and up i dont really know of anybody that needs health potions unless they are soloing but at 60 unless your fully elemental armoured its just not gonna happen you are gonna group and have a healer in the group so what use is buying potions then to what have them sit in inventory? or even use them thinking the cleric wont heal you in time but then the cleric casts a heal on you and youve just wasted it or even just wasted the clerics mana? sorry just thinking of the possibilities in my head and it doesnt really pan out. oh and checking the prices in bazaar on tribunal people undercut so bad that its almost impossible to make any profit lol sorry im done now.
