Oh, please, please, please let it be changed into a bag that summons slices of Nyla Gubbin's Jumjum Pizza!

        Ok...

        Just to 100 percent clarify.

Only potions are effected by this.

I have like 3 black inlays and a bunch of white inlays, I will still be able to use them after the patch is that correct? Don't want to lose 400K of materials....

The heads up on the change was a nice touch, too bad it didn't also warn us that our brains were being purged. Changing the way potions stack and so forth was a good idea but changing almost every recipe that most of us already use? I have been playing a shaman for most of my 6 years in EQ. It saddened me greatly to log in to check out the "better" alchemy system only to find I couldn't even make a SOW potion anymore. Perhaps using a system similar to the other tradeskills where certain potion recipes become visible depending on your level would have been a nice touch. Guess I'll just have to wait while all the folks who know someone at Sony make a killing on the new potions while the rest of us struggle along.

              Very Strange

It's very strange for a tradeskill that has been in the game since day one to suddenly get "forgotten" by everyone doing it.

I mean, its cool that Alchemy got a revamp and all, but why punish the players by making the "new" combines so cryptic?

There simply is not enough information on how to make potions, especialy for someone new to alchemy (such as myself hehe).

I agree totally with the above poster.. It may be just my imaganation but we sure take the beating in this game. My only source of decent income is now toast.. I could not even combine any of the recipes in the books in Abmisimal Sea.

OH MY GOD FOR A FEW DAYS YOU ARE NOT GOING TO HAVE YOUR ONLY SOURCE OF DECENT INCOME

THE SKY IS FALLING THE SKY IS FALLING

alternativly most stuff will be cracked within a week, and you should have supplies and stocks on your trader to cover for most of that as it is your ONLY source of decent income.

Well I don't agree that it's our only source of income but I'm not sure that was the point that was trying to be made. Imagine the uproar if this had been done to say, tailoring, or smithing. Lordy I wouldn't want to be reading those threads. Every recipe those tradeskillers ever had being wiped out like this? The only reason it was easy to do to alchemy is that we don't really have drops for our combines, most of the stuff can be purchased from vendors and that has always been something I liked about alchemy, minimal farming. Like the other person said, just have to wait for these "cryptic" recipes to show their ugly head. Til then I bet you can make a killing casting SoW in PoK!

um. where did the recipes come from originally? i bet you got them from this very website. so how bout we all work together to figure out the new recipes? ngreth already stated (here or at the crucible, maybe) that he changed the recipes in the books that are already available. all we have to do is read the books! you only need to make one successfully to put it back in your recipe list, it's really not that difficult. i don't understand why anyone's complaining.

                        Solution

Been thinking about it all day and the "easiest" solution would have been to give peeps the equivalant recipe for the old ones instead of wiping out their entire learned recipe list.

Anyway, I did not have money on the brain when I posted that message and don't really care if I even make money on Alchemy, but would like to see the new recipes in my already known list (equivalants that is).

Not really complaining just more confused than I was before, if that's possible...lol. Still I would like to figure out some of these I found Mist of Wolf in the book and on this site and the two do not match also someone posted in another place here that they were 99% sure there would not be any foraged required items for alchemy yet the mist of wolf on this site has a foraged only item...so this is among some of my confusion. It would have been nice to have the already learned potions replaced in the Bag so I would not have to go crazier than I already am looking them up in those little books and trying to understand just what they were talking about...lol

I have to say I am a little irritated that now we have to do even MORE research.... *sigh*.
But alas, I'm glad they didn't do this to smithing ..........

Ngreth was kind enough to give us all forwarning of this event.

There are dozens of rabid tradeskillers on every server who are happily cracking the hints and having fun figuring out the new "system"
Because it is a new system and from what I've been reading as people happily share their discoveries is that it makes sense.
Sorry guys, the old alchemy was a random bunch of herbs and spices that could have made Col Sanders gag.
Step away from the keyboard for a week or so and most of your favorite recipies will be rediscovered.

Or.... join in the fun and help put the jigsaw puzzle together.

                                Any idea when...

Any idea when we ill be finding the Hearty Goblin Blood or Robust Shadow Essence? Reading other forums and posts, I have seen a common theme...they are not in-game yet. This really hurts since the Pally needs the Mist of the Breathless for their epic...and Shammy's need the ingredients to make the potions for the Journeyman Trophy. Although, when first seeing that I had no knowledge of recipes, I was quite up-set, but am getting into the spirit of the game...so to speak...and finding recipes...just not the ones i need to get that trophy.
