I always shudder whenever I find useful things (like Drake Wing Bones, Blue Diamonds, even Gargoyle Granite) on the Guild Hall vendors.

It's so hard to keep a Guild educated on things like that.

Don't overestimate the dev's wonderful sense of humor in turning total crap into a prized possesion with the snap of a fingr and a new recipe. Used to be I would destroy a Drachnid Silk in a heartbeat. Now, my guild's tailor screams for em. Ya just never know what's the latest "must have" from patch to patch or expansion. So, hold onto those Ruby Crowns *chuckle*

I found one in Kelethin, once. Needed to buy some Blessed Water for DoN augs, and on the way back to the bank I hit a couple vendors at random. Now it's by far the most valuable item in my bank.

Remember all those stacks of useless Ocean Ink on every vendor in PoK? Now shamans can make cool potions out of them and they can't be had for love nor money. I would certainly like to be able to break down JC items for raw materials, maybe with a gnomish heating device in my reinforced jewelry bag. Yeah, like that'll ever happen.

              • Found a Flawless Tae Ew Hide on guildhall vendor. Like almost everything from CT it costs 2100 pp to buy it back but I thought it was worth it. Turned it into a Tae Ew Bag with the other hide I had.

                • Not my most valuable find ever but yesterday this one had me grinning like an idiot: 880 Basilisk Eggs on a pottery vendor.

                    • People generally ignore poison components.

The eggs came from a vendor close to a bank and I can only assume someone made room. But more likely it was because i had just created an alt and no bank slots were taken at the time of the find. I just love how nature fights a vacuum.

I found a number of slugworms and discordant scoriea on merchants back when that expansion was new. Oh and on the thought that all of the OoW armor quest items sell for 1cp look up Ikaav braid. Its used for silk armors but sells for around 17pp.

                          • So, I've been trying to get my rogue's poisoncrafting high enough to make me drops of mercury (go-go halfing DoN cultural, whee!).

After exhausting all the store-bought combines I could, I decided to vendor mine for components. I've found that items for high level combines (fungus clums, phosphorus powder, golden ember powder) were easy to come by, but my skill wasn't high enough for those, so I've been searching out succulent saps.

Most merchants would ahve between 3-10, which made me happy...until I found a merchant by the small bank, that had 108 of them. That made my day =)

                            • ??

Drops of Mercury are craftable at 192.

You can do all-vendor poison recipes all the way to 275.

                              • I can?! I was under the impression that I had to be able to make celestial suspensions which aren't craftable until my skill is greater than 202.

/em wanders off to go look at the poisoncrafting forums...

edit: well, it's my own silly fault for not fully researching the tradeskill before I dove in! At least I was making poisons I can use, instead of ones that have to banked for 20 levels =)
