    Cost of new cultural robes

The thing that I like is the cost!

Once you have your Shears and Needle the combines are fairly cheap!

The first 2 gnomish robes cost under 20p per attempt, which is really nice for stuff that trivials over 170. The second 2 gnomish robes cost under 40p per attempt (and triv over 195). The final 2 gnomish robes cost [only] about 105p per attempt (they probably triv near 250).

The real limiting factor will be the 2 "strange" items! For example the first gnomish robe requires a "words of neglect" and a "steamfont springwater". Both of these items are findable (the water is foraged, but is often sold to merchants), but, I think, they will become hard to get!

If this pattern holds for the other Race's cultural stuff, then those items will become in great demand!

      Unsure of racial restriction

The ONLY part that is race-restricted is the final robe combine.
This is not the case on Firiona Vie. As of Sunday the Erudian Robe Pattern was tradeable there.

I have NOT tested to see whether a fellow tailor who is NOT an Erudite can make the robe.

I will get back to you on that. I would assume that they can because they are using a Normal Sewing Kit (and such won't give you the message "Only Erudites can use this Sewing Kit" like the Erudite Sewing Kit does)

Something to remember, before you start cursing at your putor.. there is a word of neglect, and a rune of neglect.. the run does not work to make a swatch... /comfort computor.
How did you know I've been vendor-diving a lot over the last few days scrounging words, runes and pages ... and made that very same mistake?

With both a DE enchantress and a gnome mage in my horde, and my hubby with an erudite wizzie, I've been scrounging the parts for the spell research combines left, right, sideways and diagonally. I had over half a stack of the runes of neglect before I realized my error.

          Tempest Rune?

I am interested in the Erudite Robe of the Tempest... But I have never heard of a Rune of Tempest... Anyone know what/where this is?

There are a whole bunch of new words and runes. The 'higher' 3 Gnomish cultural robes (for example) use new research drops. My guess (and it is only a guess at this stage) is they drop in the higher level LoY zones. But, they may well be dropping in the PoP zones...

Cultural Robes Triv at same point?

Has anyone else been wondering about whether the various races' cultural robes will triv at the same points!?

I don't mean that all 6 robes will have the same triv, but that (for example) the first robe for each of the 6 races will have the same trivial.

I just checked the Trivials on the first 2 robes and the pattern is consistent.

Assuming this is true, the first robe for each race will be trivial at 212.

The second robe is not yet so tightly constrained, but going from the current reported range the trivial will be somewhere in 215..225.

We live in interesting times, it is a great time to be a gnome!!

One further comment. There is a page on EQ Traders will all the info on what the new words and runes are used for! Check out: http://www.eqtraders.com/secrets/LoYresearch.htm

According to that page, the rune of tempest is also used for the 56 wiz spell "retirbution of al'kabor", which generally means it will be dropped by a 52..58 level mob.

the information isn't particularly complete but...

it seems that all the first-robe swatches are trivial somewhere below 100 (can't test below 100 because you can't get the special container), all the second-robe swatches are trivial at 112 research and all the third-robe swatches are trivial at 132 research.

Such consistency suggests that the robes for each race will likely be consistent too, for the most part.

                    Just speculation -
The best gnome robe (6th) takes Yaeths Compendium 25 pg.
This page is also used for researching KEI spell (good luck getting it for tailoring).

Anyway, I would hope that the gnome robe would get a Flowing Thought effect.

heh, better be clicky ft5 or something (so it stacks beyond the cap) if it wants to compete with ID3.
