UPGRADING pelts: quest NPC in frog city!

So, has anyone tried Lion Skins (as opposed to cat pelts)?

Anyone have success recently?

Tried giving him 3 MQ Bear skins today with my WE druid - he ate them and said not a word. Didn't check the druid's faction, though Dar Forager Lumun did respond when she hailed him and offered the quest when she said "exchange", so i would have guessed it was enough.

Skins were unstacked - anyone able to get him to work since 2/8? Or is this something simple where he will take "Cat Pelts" and "Wolf Pelts" but not "Bear Skins"?

P.S. Sorry for not posting here first, Heartsong - thought I'd looked over the posts carefully to see if a thread had already been posted about Forager Lumun, but I guess my bloodshot eyes missed it.

BTW, after waiting to get Dar Forager Lumun a few times, it seems like he saunters in at 7:30 am - that's when I saw him go to his spot in Gukta - and leaves at 5 pm (that's when he disappeared from track when I went to find him the first time). Don't know if he stays there the entire 10 game hours, but he was also there when I popped in at 9 am and 12 noon game time.

upgrading pelts

Just tried Dar Forager Lumun with 3 lq cats & 3 lq wolf. No return on either. Tried rockhopper. Same result. !

The eating of the pelts implies that the npc is not yet fully active - if it was not interested in trading for your pelts, surely you'd get 'I do not need this item, you can have it back' message?

Nope, Dar Forager Lumun simply ate the pelts- no message, no return.

Erazmuz reported the quest working on 7 Feb, so apparently he's broken now. (Maybe he was returning HQ lion hides and they took it down to fix it?)

This works now. Today on the Druzzil Ro server it did, at any rate. Turned in LQ and MQ cat, wolf, and bear pelts and recieved 1 of the next higher grade pelt for 3 of the lower grade. I did this with Amiable faction (naturally indifferent + faction song).

Tried this on Karana tonight with rockhoppers. I am indifferent, and no success. My friend enchanter got herself to amiable and also no success. You will get 1 pelt back with a message "Here <name>, I have no need for this." So if you are trying it, just give one to see if he keeps it.

It is about time they start doing this for pelts. I was hoping they would make it a tailoring combine though with a different trivial at each jump in quality.

Finaly get hold of him in Gukta, after following up for a while in the swamp.
Was a bit nervous about it, cause read here it didn't work all the time.

So I hail him, give him the ''what exchange'' line he seem to require, and give him 3 mq pelt, one at a time IN THE WINDOW FOR IT, (otherwise they stacked, and didn't liked that, wanted to be sure of me), and TADDA, a new HQ pelt.

It work with MQ bear, cat, wolf, didn't work with mq rockhopper pelts. The
little snitch gave 1 back to me .

The forager work also for the bakers, (with his limited mushrooms and eggs supplies), 2 tradeskills with a toadie .

Verified on Xev with LQ -> MQ -> HQ cat, wolf and bear. He spit out the LQ hopper and the Brute Hides I fed him. Darn...

Summing everything up in one little space

Dar Forager Lumun is only in Gukta for chort periods of time. When he's not there, he has left and is wandering aimlessly about Innothule Swamp. Unfortunately, he only offers to upgrade the pelts when in Gukta.

In order to upgrade the pelts, you must have at least amiable faction. If your faction's not amiable, go to Dar Collector Reokar and try handing him a bone chip. If he doesn't accept the bone chip, try a fresh fish. If not that, he will seek giant rat ears, the toughest to get of them. Hand him whatever item he seeks one at a time until asked for something different. Once he seeks a different item, hand him 8 of that item, then move to the next type in line and repeat the process until your faction finally goes up. It took me about 20 to 30 of each item to get to amiable from unaltered indifferent faction.

It seems that only cat, bear, and wolf pelts are accepted for upgrades, however, so I'm a bit disappointed with the result, though.

I just did a turn in of 2 MQ bear pelts and got a HQ back, and am only indifferent faction.
