UPGRADING pelts: quest NPC in frog city!

Dar Forager Lumun, loc 93.3, 55.2 in the now froggy-ruled Grobb (soon to be renamed Gukta, apparently) will take 3 pelts in exchange for 1 of his pelts of the same kind & of a higher quality.

(Note: this follows the GM event in which frogs took over Grobb tonight. He seems to be a regular NPC, as the entire zone repopped with frog trainers, frog guards, frog banker, etc.)

Turned in 3 MQ cat pelt, recieved 1HQ cat pelt

To get quest, hail Dar forager Lumun (located next to or near Soulbinder, will also walk from zoneline to his spot), then ask "what exchange".

He will then reply with something about needing pelts, and willing to exchange 3 pelts of same type, non ruined, in exchange for 1 pelt of higher quality.

Too bad it doesn't work with ruined pelts. Since my cleric finished making tailored quivers from HQ cat skins for skill-ups, he really doesn't have much use for higher quality pelts. He turns all his useable pelts into leather padding and sells them in the Bazaar.

Now, it would be really neat if you can make three medium quality lion skins into a high quality lion skin to make fleeting quivers.

Of course, my halfling would love to be able to convert brute hides into HQ brute hides.

I did a /feedback asking for the mob to be moved further back, as high levels farming the zone are keeping him permakilled on Rodcet right now. :/

BTW, why are we assuming this won't work with ruined pelts? From the way I read the text, it should work for any upgrade (i.e. 3 ruined > 1 LQ, 3 LQ > 1 MQ, etc.). Each combo needs to be tested, of course, but until the guy lives more than 5 seconds.... *sigh*

Can someone confirm whether or not ruined pelts will work?

I managed to get to him before he was killed, & can now confirm that he will give 1 MQ cat pelt when handed 3 LQ cat pelts. I stand corrected on the ruined -> LQ idea; I forgot the key word 'unruined' in his quest text. Oh well, not quite perfect but still a danged good thing.

Since evils will probably be KoS in Gukta (the renamed Grobb), I'm wondering if there might be a similar quest NPC for them in Neriak FQ, now that trolls have moved there? Worth checking, I'd think.

This mornings message told of the Frogloks kicking out the Trolls and said that if you camped in Grobb or Innuthule you were affected by this. I dont know where you are going to be at log in if this applies to you but i'll ask around.

Well logged in this morning and sure enough, my bind point is now in nektulos and the new frogs can be seen in what was once Grobb

FYI, I just tried turning in 3 HQ Rockhopper hides but did not get anything back in return. I also tried regular Brute hides to see if he would upgrade those and the same thing happened.

Not sure if this was a quality issue or if it was because they were both hides instead of pelts but I guess you can scratch those two off of the list for now.
