UPGRADING pelts: quest NPC in frog city!

FYI, I just tried turning in 3 HQ Rockhopper hides but did not get anything back in return. I also tried regular Brute hides to see if he would upgrade those and the same thing happened.

Not sure if this was a quality issue or if it was because they were both hides instead of pelts but I guess you can scratch those two off of the list for now.

Dar Forager Lumun is broken. Ate 6 of my MQ cat pelts; 3 stacked and 3 unstacked.

tried giving him 3 unstacked mq rockhoppers, he said thanks! and took em..never trust a frog. indif faction, will zap him with faction song and try again later.

Would be very grateful to know how you go with higher faction, part of me is thinking it will be too good to be true but.

I am in there right now. This NPC is not located at his given location, nor does he appear on track. Likewise, I see zero people in the zone, so he hasn't been killed by XP goers.

Maybe GM's yanked him for now?

In any case, this could be a red herring, but I've been seeing an influx of HQ lion skins in the bazaar the last couple of days. I went out to NK to gather any quality pelts, and within 5 kills got 2 HQ lion skins. This is either EXCEPTIONAL luck, or the spawns could have been changed in anticipation of this quest NPC?

Correction: even though there were no PC's killing within the zone, the NPC was not up. However, after exploring for an hour, the NPC finally spawned.

I gave him 3 MQ lion skins, but he did not say anything, nor did he give me an HQ lion skin.

More data. I got sidetracked by a guildmate in a large conversation, so I wasn't watching the screen. However, I was standing in front of the NPC, and don't recall him moving, and... he's now gone.

Nor is he on track anywhere in the zone. I think he actually GOES foraging. heh

I believe he sorta "zones out" of Gukta. I saw him appear on track again just now, and walk back from the zone line.

Hmmm... perhaps you could follow him when he zones out and see if he shows up in Innothute? Maybe he goes and does something that you could help him with?

he either despawns or something, both times ive been looking for him he hasnt been there but after 10 or 15 minutes he shows up.

I tested the 3 mq lion pelts hoping for a HQ lion pelt, actually i was hoping this wouldnt work cos fleeting quiver prices would drop like a rock, but i hit him with faction song so i was amiable, gave him 3 unstacked and he didnt even give me a Ribbit! hehe! nothing..just too my skins. HQ lion isnt gonna be that easy which is good in my opinion.

guessing brute hides and rockhoppers are the same way. probably only cat, wolf and bear pelts will be doable..but how bout them bear skins..HMMM (no i havent tried them yet)

Too bad it doesn't work on Brute Hides, that means it probably won't work on Sabertooth Hides either. I will try sometime soon though...

As someone already posted, it will probably only be anything listed as "Pelt". If you can find a Pelt mob in Kunark, Velius, Luclin, PoP, you may try and see if those "pelts" will work.

I have personally followed Dar Forager Luun in his travels, I can verify that he does in fact 'Zone' into Inny swamp...every other time he leaves his location....the other times he jumps into the water and swims to the wizard guild...and then apparently he gets ported to the moon (for foraging the mushrooms?)(it isn't the nexus, don't know about DSP, Grimling, or TS yet)....but he depops in the wizard guild and then repops about 6 minutes later (I wish I could have, when baking, foraged 1 and 3/4 stacks of shrooms in six minutes)... I think this is the most interesting npc in the game...he zones...and he forages...and he upgrades pelts(the only use I see is too up to hq cat for quivers and hq bear for Hand made back packs...not to sell, but to skill up)
