OK, I know this thread has been sitting out here for a bit, but the last post interested me about the jewelry trophy. I made my tailoring trophy last night at 248. A guildie failed for the 3rd time on his jewelry one... all attempts made at 250 skill lvl. Are there different lvls of difficulty for these? I was so excited to get mine, but I felt so bad for him as well. Especially since he mounted my gems =(.
Gwenae (my druid) just made her tailoring trophy, on the first attempt, at 231 skill plus geerlok.
Ilona made her JC trophy on the sixth attempt at 250 skill plus geerlok.
The "coincidence" is that on both times, my boyfriend was helping gather the supplies together (ferrying me to Thurg, etc) He wasn't there for any of the failed combines.
On the other hand, I attempted the geerlok after a "run" of CD cutural, where the four last attempts all succeeded... I think it's more the streaky RNG than anything else.
I think it's all just the nature of random numbers. sometimes you have good luck, sometimes it's poor. After having a number of very poor rounds of skill ups (120-140 combines between skill ups) I have averaged out again with 10 skill ups with 200 combines 213-223. 280 INT 260 Dex. same exact conditions as previous attempts.
so just keep plugging away.
First try Fail at 218 cause I was being hopeful
Second try Fail at 225 cause I was feeling lucky!
Third try Sucess at 232 cause I found the gems while vendor diving !!
All three attempts were done with Geerlok in hand.
First attempt - Failed final combine. (didn't notate what skill lvl)
Second attempt - Failed final combine at 218.
Third attempt - Failed final combine at 218.
Fourth attempt - Trophy at 235!!
