GM Tailoring Trophy - skill level

They were not skill level restricted in the beggining, that is something that was added in a recent patch

Sorry, but what's the skill level restriction? You can't even try it till 201 or something? Btw I've now had 5 final combine failures (w/ 1 loss in the pottery combine), and still no trophy. *sighs* It's costly and saddening.

I had 4 attempts on my vial (poisons) trophy.

1st one I blew up
2nd one my friend blew it up in the kiln
3rd one I blew up
4th one I made it

That was with 250 poisons skill. As for my tailoring needle..... well, I might go for it early, but based on previous experiences, I'm liable to wait a while.

On the bright side, the price of BDs has droppedto around 500pp on Bertoxx, from the 2k they were when I got my vial

WOO HOO! I did it!

My tailoring skill is still 215 (225 with my Geerlock), and as a wedding present from my RP hubby whose been giving me jewels and plat to help me pay for attempts, I finally decided to try another run, so I made 3 artisan seals and didn't fail any pre-combines (a good omen I thought) then tah-dah! On my first try of the 3 seals I had ready, I got my needle.

/happy dance!

I guess 7 was my lucky number.

Woohoo I made my trphy first try at 217 with a geerlok, made the artisan seal too and no fails

235 with gearlock making it like 246. Success on first try!

250 jeweler failed first time made it the second.

total cost for both jeweler tries was 10,400 (failed once on the blue diamond part also). Tailor one cost me less than 5k.

That was many months ago, now I have been a 250 tailor for a while.

At 216 with Geerlock, I was successful on 2nd attempt.

Failed once at 230 skill + geerlok.

Failed once at 235 skill + geerlok.

Next scheduled attempt will be at 240 skill. =P

Successful on second attempt at skill 206. If the odds are the same as ceremonial solstice robes (both are >250 items), then I'd guess its around 1 in 10 to make one at this skill. I got lucky.

Re: Ability to make trophy

If the success formula follows for the other trophies, I believe you can make at any level with an x% chance of success - most people think it is 5. Once you start getting above 200, you chance to combine increases slowly to 50% at 250.

That seems to be the thinking that was going around on the smiths' board before the change.

GM Embroidery Needle

Tried mine at a skill of 235 plus Geerlok and was successful on the first attempt.

Here's a weird coincidence for ya.

After watching my GM smithy husband fail about 5 times at his smithing trophy at levels 210 and around 215 I finally decided to go ahead and try mine at Tailoring level 221, expecting to fail miserably. Failed on first combine, but got a skill point. Woot! Success on second combine!! Woot, Woot!

So, I say to my smithy hubby as he hit skill level 221, why don't you try that trophy again? Well, he did and guess what? Failed on first combine, success on second. Woot! Coincidence?? Maybe.

Whatever the case I'm just so happy we both have our trophies now.

Since making my trophy my skill points seem to be coming faster. I'm 227 now and climbing. Look out Innoruuk Server!

the random number gods hated me on this one.....Took six tries between skill level 230-240. Two fails were in the making of the seal though, so actually succeeded on the 4th tailoring combine. One expensive little needle!

240 skill plus geerlok - success on first try. I still have 5 artisans seals left over because I was so worried I would fail.
