Since its a quest combine its not learnable thus we dont know its trivial for sure. I would assume its 335 since it seems on average GM tailors run a 50% failure rate on average. The same fail rate as other 335 combines. Altho it may be slighly higher.

Quest combines are not learnable, so it won't show in the new UI no matter how successful people are on it.Tinile, 85th Druid of the Seventh Hammer

Have a few friends who succeeded on their first Tunic combine with 220 skill (+ 5% mod).
I'm not so adventurous and will probably wait until 240 skill (+ geerlok) before I attempt. Yeah I'm a chicken lol
I'm just soo happy to be done with Solstice Robes now
cheers

Oh and the guy above me..i've heard stories of people failing 10 times at 250, and ive heard stories of people succeeding first time at 220.
Read a few primal scream threads, you'll get the idea.

What Leafrat said. Statisically, you should have a better chance to succeed at 250 than 220. So, with that in mind, consider the skill up more vs. farm for more question that became the general consensus for those with the Coldain shawls tailoring dilemma. Should I get my skill up higher to try the tailoring combine or should I just combine away because it's easier to farm the quest components and keep trying than to farm and try to skill up. Most folks decided it was easier to farm for the quest components than to skill up.
However, in the case of the fire tunic, the quest components (those bloody saps) are rare as heck, so you may decide differently.
Again, this is based on the statistical fact that you should have a better chance of success at 250 than 220. But, throw in RNG and the fact that are many reported cases of people succeeding at 220 and failing 250 (I myself failed 3 times at 250) that you could just say what the heck.

I was of the mind that farming curing agents was easier and more productive then farming ornate for $ for tailoring components. The fact that I got it on first combine at 222 just served to help things, but i'm doing the same route on my gf's cleric. Will skill to 220 and just keep trying.
