As a plate wearer, I am doing my part to make sure to even it out as best I can. I have made, easily, 150 exalted symbols, both for guildees/friends and to baz trade. I have smithed, maybe, 20 of them, if that? Reasons being that I want to level my masters tailor trophy, the fluids and silks are more available and I really don't know a lot of silk wearers. Not that the last part matters since flawless stuff ONLY makes the symbols, but I did the same with Eminent stuff as well for the same reason.

But when I finish the sublime quest, I plan to tailor those as well so as not to waste loams on symbols!

If there is another LDoN day, they will go in early, or I may ask for it to be pushed early after QA has looked at it. I am looking at a few more possible adjustments before I send it to QA (include more "golem" races in the metal races)

      ***BUT***

Fortress Mechanotus is **NOT** the target zone for those drops. And because of it, it will be rare. on the table you were pulling from it has a 2.22 % chance to get a drop at all and THEN a 2% chance to be porus loam, 2% chance to be the 80 marrow and 4% chance to be the 80 spinnerette, This is BEFORE the changes I made (since we are speaking of the past)

      I.E. RARE.

you have a better chance in another zone.

But in the end... this stuff will be rare anyway.
I've had absolutely disappointing results from Crystallos. I've received a total of 2 loams and both were SPONGY. I've had 11 fluid and 10 marrow. This is actively farming the overlord golem models as well. If I can't farm the end zone with a supposed higher drop rate for loam where can I farm it? Is something incorrect with the drop rate still? Is spongy replacing porous?

It seems in the teir3/4 zones the code might be wrong, as spinners are still droping MUCH more often then Marrow/Loams. And loams are very very rare. In crystallos you might be one drop every few hours.. or u could go to Thallius, a zone thats suposed to be 20x rarer, and get about the exact same drops/time as in crystallos. Yes you clear more mobs, but that shouldnt be the entire drop model.

Can I assume by your response that you have had the Porous Loams drop in Crystallos? It's reassuring to hear since I was getting a tad discouraged. I disdain selling items in the bazaar and I've had to break down to selling all these excess fluids so I can spend 250k-500k per loam.

God bless you. Baby Jesus cries when people use porous loams to make Sublime symbols.

It'd be cheaper in the long run to max out tailoring, evolve the trophy and get the mastery AAs than to use porous loams to make symbols.

While I was looking at stuff I did find some bad data... So yeah, something else was off (I do not remember exactly what). It should be fixed in the same patch.

Aren't steamworks more like golems than humanoids?

Not that that actually helps me -- them being humanoid would be more useful for me.

While I agree with you, I needed a more generic table.

Since they are "gnome analogs" I gave them the same "value" system as gnomes.

Thats good to know. I proposed it in another thread, but are loams set to drop twice as often as spinners/marrow? The reason i ask this is more then double the amount of classes use loams, then that of marrow, or spinners. Since Marrow is for bst/monk/druid =3, spinners are for wiz/mage/ench/nec = 4, and yet loams are for pal/sk/war/cle/bard + rog/rang/sham/berk = 9. It would seem reasonable that loams should have a drop rate double of spinners/marrow. And this doesnt even take into account that generally there are generally more plate classes (tanks/clerics), then leather or silk classes. I know last time i brought it up someone said it had to be balanced against the number of golem vs spider vs animal, but for humoniond i would think its clear that it should habe double the drop chance as the other 2.

Its been discussed before, but I havent seen anything more addressing it since the SoF launch.

I take it this means steamworks will drop the loams/spinners/etc now like the gnomes do currently? Well after the patch that is
