Level 75 and 80 Aug Quests

hunted there for about 2 hours last night with a full group. i got 10 shaman killed and 4 impressions made.

we were roaming all along the corridors and in the rooms. we also got a little unlucky with shaman, i think (i hope?) -- one full clearing resulted in no shaman spawning, for instance.

we had a couple of bsts in group, and set up targets on the vinelash mobs before engaging. this worked very well to constrain the dps on any individual. of course, the one vinelash that spawned on top of us was the end of our little adventure...

the good news is that there are a lot of people interested in seeing these symbols made, so folks are willing to help out with the task. the bad news it that it looks like it requires several people for the exalted task (as a cleric, i'm effectively never going to be able to solo those), and a super group for the sublime task.

I went to Fortress, and killing some of the mobs with 'reaper' in their name doesn't count for the quest. Is there a particular type of reaper mob needed, if so where is it?

When I was there, I saw 1 "a reaver" on tracking. Found him in the main outer area... gnome.. that was wandering around with a bunch of others. Considering the other mobs used for the previous quests... I suspect that is about the rarity the mob is going to be

How long are people expected to spend to complete these tasks again??

"a trooper" was another mob in the area (hopefully some PHs) There was "a mender" and some firesomething caster mob.

Ooooo... after my five hour stint there last night, I am so wanting to scream "I hate you" then run off crying into my room!

Congrats though on the great impression luck... I had the opposite lol 23 Shaman, 2 impressions.

I've got six shaman and two impressions on Rish and Gar, six impressions and zero on Zopharr.

Hoping your luck changes - with the mobs being rare spawns, the impressions seems like overkill. Killing drakes and getting fractured claws was bad enough - had to kill 160 drakes for the claws. While I'm lucky so far, I'd almost prefer, say, 50 shaman and no impressions just to have a definite end to the quest.

why is there a level limit on the symbols quest?

its a simple question, not ment to start anything, in my experience the vast majority of the more serious tradeskillers were more intrested in doing tradeskills then leveling, and this forces them into a play style not entirely their own chooseing, that of leveling and grinding ect.

I have been trying to get the new symbol quests from my home town quest npc in Erudin and he is simply not offering any new quests that I can discover. Is there a different guy? I am 300 in both tailoring and smithing; did all the cultural quests under the old system so have all the old books. Was able to get new recipes from the vendors near the PoK library, but not the new quests for new pattern books.

Exalted symbol quest completed !

I just finished the quest to make Exalted symbols on Maelin and so far am 3 for 3 on the augs, despite trivials from 396 to 400+.

The quest is very tedious. not sure of all the classes haev to do same zones or not, but for SHM, the quest was to:
Kill 40 Darkroot Shaman in Direwind
Make 6 impressions
Kill 20 Adult mamoths in Icefall
Make 4 impressions.

On average, I made impression about once every 5 mobs. Usually get the msg when mob died, not when looting it, though for at least one mammoth I got msg on the loot attempt.

The mamoth part was easy...The Darkroot part was very tedious. Took me close to 7 hours to get the 40 kills...farming just LB mobs (they are all LB to lvl 79). Its more tedious by the fact that the Darkroot Vineguards are nasty mobs that often will kill MT unless you have a mezzer (5-6 adds which are low hp but all hit as hard as the main mob).

Some Exaltant xxxxxxxx symbol of Judgement recipe missing

It seems that the book to scribe symbol recipies missed some.

The Exaltant (slot) symbol of Skeptic recipies exist for all armor slots, but the
Exaltant (slot) symbol of Judgement recipies are missing for the Wrist, Helm, and leg slots...they exist for sleeve armor. Ths is when viewed in northman forge.

You can still do the combines, but you have to do it manually, and upon success the recipe is not added still.

I know some SOE devs see these forums, but should this be crossposted soemwhere?

It could be the search parameters you used to find the recipes are too broad.

This would result in recipes not showing in the list... but still existing.

The Titanium isn't for the cultural I don't think. Its used for making the seals for the TSS Slot 13 Raid augs. There is another thread with that info.

That was it exactly. I went back and searched on "exalt" and this time noticed in my separate emote window that there were too many results to list.

I found a while back this was happening on a regular basis with my tailoring of augs. With 2 recipes for every slot/diety/level of aug it was ridiculous. Best way to search for the recipe is to search for it based on the diety part. i.e. search for skeptic or judgment or ...

This way it only gives you the recipes for that dieties augs. works really well because even with the 2 new tiers you will never pass the 200 limitation.

One of the nice thing about the search fields in EQ is they key off of partial ino. You just need to find a unique part of the name to key off of. For example , when i am in the bazaar looking for the new gate potion i serch for "r trans" . I can never recall the full name, that fragment pulls up all the players selling the new gate potions. Try that with the reciepe serce , it works.
