Titanium is for Exalted augs too. You can make titanium templates, but they're only for skillups; you can't make armor with them.

        Make 6 impressions
Kill 20 Adult mamoths in Icefall
        Make 4 impressions.
I think it's all the same. I got that same list (high elf) and so did my friend (halfling). We went out to try and work on it a bit, but it's pretty tough to do with just the 2 of us.
We will need to gather up more people I think and have a full group to get anywhere on this.

its a simple question, not ment to start anything, in my experience the vast majority of the more serious tradeskillers were more intrested in doing tradeskills then leveling, and this forces them into a play style not entirely their own chooseing, that of leveling and grinding ect.
Well I think if you look at the quest that is needed to get the symbols you can understand why. There is a no way a level 55 tradeskillers would be out killing those mobs. Even if you have 5 high level friends helping you do it, that means YOU aren't really doing it or helping much to complete the quest. Now add in the fact anything you make won't be usable by someone lower level.
Lots of things in the past required higher level and playstyle. Aid Grimel quest being a prime example.

            75 Symbol quest

I'm trying to get the 75 symbol task.

Wood elf here.. I went to Calian in Greater Faydark. When I speak to him, he wants to give the the very first task in Unrest. Is this the right person or is there a word I can say to get it? I've already done all these pre-change.

            EDIT:

My bad, I had an illusion on. Once I removed it, I could see the all the tasks.

Hoping your luck changes - with the mobs being rare spawns, the impressions seems like overkill. Killing drakes and getting fractured claws was bad enough - had to kill 160 drakes for the claws. While I'm lucky so far, I'd almost prefer, say, 50 shaman and no impressions just to have a definite end to the quest.

              Garshok
Surprisingly, I finished this up last night perfectly. 40th kill yielding my 6th impression... I call that dumb luck to say the least LOL.

Now 9 reavers down, 1 impression, lets see how this one goes.

Side note: Titanium Ore, Alkalai Loam and the Flawless drops are all used for the 75 symbols, as well as seals for AAGA augs. You can make templates, but the only usable templates for gear are the Tantalum.

Good information there. But where does one get the Exalted quests from and from whom ?

You get it from the same quest giver from your home town that gives you the elaborate and below quests. Just don't be in an illusion. You don't list your race, so i don't have a specific NPC to give you.

Vah Shir. I know who it is I guess I will have to break down and get SoF just to get the quest. I thought maybe the npc for the higher quests were elsewhere.

For those having problems with impressions...I think if you have two books at once (like got sublime and exalted quests at same time), only the one in higher up slot will update. I killed 15 mammoths and no update, then it occurred to me, switched the two books in my inventory, 4 impressions in next 6 kills.

i don't think so. it's just bad luck with the RNG.

i've had the sublime book sitting in my inventory before the exalted book, and i've had fine luck with impressions for the exalted task (5 impressions in 25 shaman kills, for instance).

There is no way on Norrath that is true. You just got a bad RNG run, thats almost as bad an urban legend as when ppl were saying in 1999 if you didnt open the banded recipe book on your screen (blocking everything else you are doing) you would fail the combine.

                                My Bleeding Eyes.

OK, most of this is old hat now, but a recap on how I did on the 75 augment quest, more to give an idea of how long it takes.

Getting the 40 Darkroot shaman took about 13 hours – two two-hour sessions and a mind-numbing nine hours Saturday getting the last 27. RNG has a high potential suck factor - had a two and a half hour spell where we got Dethshed three times and only two shaman. Garshok and Zopharr had all of their impressions by kill 26, Rish got his last one on shaman number 41. We mostly camped one room that gave us nine placeholders and three wanderers to kill. You could probably cut this from 12-13 hours to eight or nine hours if you have a well-geared group going room to room killing more PHs – we had about five minutes downtime each 20-minute cycle when we had a full group.

Went on to Icefall after a three hour break. Took about three hours to kill the 20 adult mammoths, not too bad. Even though there were lots of multi-pulls, not having to deal with casting mobs was a joy after nine hours pulling in the caves. Impressions here were a bit of a different matter – Zopharr and Rish got all of theirs, but at 20 mammoths, Garshok had one of four. At 25, had only two of four impressions. At that point I decided to bag it for the night.

So all told, about 16 hours - which could be reduced to 12 hours with the right groups and a good RNG. I went from 0% in the level 76 (literally dinged to 76 on my first shroom kill) to 79% into level 76 on virtually all dark blue mobs. Some notes:

                                - having the both the Sublime and the Exalted aug quests doesn’t make a difference for getting the impressions for the Exalted quest. Both Rish (who spent two hours Sunday making augs) and Garshok had both the aug tasks and both got impression updates.

                                - the same kill can give impressions for multiple folks,. There were at least two kills where the mob gave two of my characters impressions. This is good, as it encourages tradeskillers working together on these - no worry about who gets to loot the fractured drake claws.

Overall, mixed feelings about the impressions. I think it is great since allowing multiple people to work on the quest at once encourages cooperation between tradeskillers and makes it faster for everyone - I knew after killing 160 drakes for Garshok to get his claws for the level 70 augments under the old system, there was no way I was going to go through that again for Zopharr. The RNG can be fickle, though (Lord Gimblox took 56 hours straight for Zopharr’s Epic 1.0), and I kind of wonder what the function is. Not sure how many other folks are running into issues, but I’d almost favor increasing the quest kill requirements by 25% or so and eliminating the random element of the impressions. With three smiths it doesn’t make much difference to me if Garshok ever finishes this (other than pride – so I know I will), but for those with only one smithing toon, a really bad RNG run on these could make one kick over their anvil in disgust and reroll as a gnome tinkerer.

Thanks to Babahut, Dammen, Ivatt, and all of the folks of the Reviv/Wraith/ Radiant alliance who helped on this - despite my fraying sanity as Saturday dragged on.
