Using this recipe I skilled to 221 today.

Btw, if you hapen to forget to combine this recipe without the spell scroll you will still create Velium Bits which has a much lower trivial. I found this out the hard way and lost a potential attempt to skill up .

can you confirm you can start this at 188. I am getting confused on the min start of this.

I have 40 velium bits in the bank and was going to work on tailoring but this seems like the better place to direct them .

you can start at i beleive 165 or 158 with geerlock. not 100% sure there but definetly by 188 so go for it.

For anyone interested in skill up rates and costs using this combine:

It took me 682 combines to raise my skill 29 points from 193 to 222. This worked out at an average of 1 skill up per 23.5 combines. There was no noticable difference in the rate throughout the process. This was at 285 strength and wisdom (not sure if maxing both would make a difference, but I did it regardless)

The costs were:
682 x 12.5 = 8525 plat on spell: enchant velium
682 x 5.0 = 3410 plat on coldain velium temper (people in bazaar selling huge quantities for 5 plat each, and someone else just giving me 8 stacks of cvt once he'd finished his smithing)
1364 x 20.00 = 27280 plat on small pieces of velium (an average estimate - i bought up a huge quantity for weeks before the price rocketed, and farmed a fair amount afterwards)

This works out at a 57 plat loss per combine (no buyback value), or a 1350 cost per skill point.

The good news is that thanks to the massive price inflation of velium on Innoruuk, I can easily resell my left over velium at 100 to 150 plat a piece. So I can recoup some of that.

So far 3 skill ups from 3 stacks -177 to 180.
I had better success with geerlock mod.

Only drawer backs I have see are having 20 slots for the spell since it does not stack and coldain temper which is not being sold on the vendor (Tribunal Server).

So where's the best place to get velium pieces? None in bazaar, none on vendors, and I've used all of mine in the bank (no skill ups either *sigh*).

many many threads on this. use search. tofs 5th floor, velks if higher level. can farm the crap out of cc to get some too.

Out of 100 combines, 1 skillup. At least when I read here, I know who is getting my skillups.
