  • OK went back and checked stuff. The text you have for the Brewing step is correct - he still says If you need more dust just ask for it! even though he has given you three dust. To get more dust you can say

    I need more dust

(Saying I need more powder does NOT work even though that's what he called is first :/)

    to which he replies

Here you go! Good luck in your brewing!

and gives you ONE dust. Your stats on the dust are, as mentioned, correct. A vendor will buy the dust for 1cp (indifferent, 153 CHA). OMGZ ECONOMY LEAK!!!

    • Me again, with further information on the flags required for Step 4: Pottery.

Previously I had Tallon Zek, Vallon Zek, Saryrn, NOT Mithaniel Marr, NOT Agnarr; and this was not enough

Now I have TZ, VZ, Saryrn, Mithaniel Marr - and these four together and complete give entrance to Tower of Solusek Ro - but still NOT Agnarr, and this is now enough for Grimel to consider my Pottery skill.

But my Pottery is still only 200 and he says:

I once saw a house built out of sun-fired clay, with your skills I wouldn't wager you could build more than a rickety birdhouse. Please don't crush any birds

      • OK, added Saryrn and Mithaniel Marr as required Flags for the Pottery, ...

Could you confirm the wording? Maybe even provide the wordings for the flags like seen in the Smithing Part?

Flag Requirement: Bertoxxulous AND rescuing Mylik and Adier
Your Flag MUST say - Saved from certain doom, Milyk and Adler are forever in your debt.
Also updated the Brewing part about the dust.

Note, these updates are on the parts of the broken down Aid Grimel Quests... not the big long write-up.

        • Hmm..

My own personal views on the end of the quest results. I think it was meant to be a reward to all those of us who actually put in the time in tradeskills and didn't pop off the tradeskills just to do the quest.

Its sad to say but true. Most people doing this quest are just doing it for the ending item and for no other reason. I truely believe that the original function of this quest was a just reward for those of us who (didn't have to be in a uber guild or some of us who were) but the reward was supposed to be the result of many long hours of tradeskilling in various skills not someone to power level themselves in a certain tradeskill just to finally get an item that becomes obsolete once they reach the elemental planes.

Where did the programmer go wrong? Thats easy to say. They tried to keep the uber guilds happy (who most of time don't do that much in tradeskills) and the non uber people happy.

The result has been one of the most mis-matched quests I have ever seen in my history in lands since the beginning of the game.

On one side you have as an example me not in a guild at the moment but within 3 weeks will have 7 GM 's in various skills but no access to elemental planes (and no desire for it at the moment) so I cannot finish the quest because lots of parts have to be found in elemental planes.

On the other side you have people in uber guilds who do not have the time to complete the quest as they don't have the time to work tradeskills and help the guild on raids at the same time so you tell me....

          Whats wrong with this picture?

Everyone loses out on the quest.

One suggestion is to take this quest out all together out of the elemental planes and put it back into accomplishments of becoming a GM in all tradeskills. When you reach 250 and a trophy in any skill you turn in that last part to receive an upgrade and so forth and so on until you reach the ultimate item by having the GM in all the skills needed.

Trust me..not many people on any server are true 250 + trophy in too many tradeskills. Most are 240 plus a geerlok or a trophy.

There is also going to be a overwhelming side effect which the gods didn't think about. We could end up with an overwhelming number of tradeskillers out there which would ultimately kill off the market on any crafted items.

Anyway..just a few suggestions from me.

          • Gonna have to say no to that really. Not because I'm in an uber guild, but because I worked on these tradeskills a long time before this quest. The reward (despite what people say) IS good. Personally, I believe that the flag work and the tradeskill work was pretty fun. After about 6 months of work, I had both of my earrings and was very proud.

If you allow people to just skill up to get the earring with no flag work or elemental drops...you're going to have a MUCH bigger problem with the collapse of tradeskill economy since any person at level 51+ could drop 500k or so and get one of the best earrings in game.

            • I have the same background as GokuSan. I was tradeskilling (on my way to 1750) long before this quest was solved entirely.

That being said, I am one of those "not to many people" that TheGiantOne mentions who is raw 250 in all tradeskills (+all trophies except smithing for which I have 15% gloves)..... Beacause I can...

Already now, some of the crafted item markets have been completely devastated on my server. One item... Ceremonial Solstice Robes sell for as low as 50-100pp. I used to make those for profit hehe.

TheGiantOne, the changes you propose would even further kill tradeskill markets, and drive up the cost of combinable items to even more ridiculous amounts.

              • Actually my guild has several people working on this and we are an elemental planes guild that raids almost everyday. Its not fair to say that high end raid guilds don't have the time for tradeskills because we've got over a dozen people that are in the process of working on that earring or have achieved it.

Personally I don't like the fact it killed some markets, but I don't think everyone in there brother should be allowed to have one that doesn't ahve the flag requirements ect. Then the market on EVERYTHING would be devastated.

Thats just my opinion. They balanced it well enough that ABCDEF Joe Smoe twink can't get one. Instead your going to have to make a massive effort to get your twink one ect.

Way your stating anyone in there brother could get one and that wouldn't be fair to everyone that has put in the work. Yes I put in alot of the work on mine over a year not just in a month. I also have the 8th shawl and I had 3 Grandmaster skills (250) before I decided to join my current guild to be with my sweetie.

                • In the quest write up, it says:
Wind Metal Bow Cam: (Toolbox, Trivial > 234)
                  Wind Metal Bolts
                  Wind Metal Gears
                  Jar of Clockwork Grease
                  Wind Cam Parts
You actually only need the Bolts, Gears, and Jar of Grease to make the Wind Metal Bow Cams... there's no such thing as Wind Cam Parts.

                  • OK Modified the Writeup (for just the Fletching Single Page Part) to removed the 'Wind Cam Parts'.

Also made the Multi-Page Version the Primary Version obtained, with a link to the old version on the Introduction Page.

Please Note, the Single Page Version is going to taken down... I will not be mainting two copies of the writeup.

                    • Just wanted to say that the flag requirement for Fletching is more than Rallos Zek. I am elemental except for Fire I have no Sol Ro flags at all. I have everything combined up to the Tunic but of course cant get that part of the quest. So I tried the triggers for the remaining parts and when I told him I am skilled with a fletching knife he told me that I need to experience more in the planes. I did receive the field satchel when I said I am a master chief. My fletching skill is at 250 so I am thinking that you need Sol Ro or maybe one of the Sol Ro mini's to get the fletching quest.

                      • This is a very nice quest and is not wasted on so called "uber" guilds.

People that join end game raiding guilds aren't drones that just raid. They play the game just like anyone else but simply have different goals and a lot more time.

We have like 4 or 5 GM (1750) tradeskillers in our ranks. They were into tradeskills before this quest and didnt PL themselves for it. If anything it reignited their passion for them.

The reward item is one of the best in the game and will not go to waste, trust me. I have done the quest twice on my druid and am currently doing it again (x2) for my bard. I for one have all my skill at 250 minus smithing (224) since I wanted to for self gratification. Didn't need to but did it anyway.

This is one of the best quests I have ever done and the restrictions in place are in line with the reward. Just because some people may be lvl46 (general statement and NOT directed at anyone in this thread) and have all their skills at 250 shouldn't automatically give them access to every tradeskill quest in the game.

                        • Fire emblem?

Is the Emblem of fire for the Tailoring portion no drop? Personally my skill is 220 and if I can have a jcm chanter do the combine I'd feel better about it!

This is where I grabbed info from.
