EDIT: I should note that this was written by Ngreth. Source at the bottom.
Jewelry will be recieving a revamp of the jewelry made with it in the Secrets of Faydwer expansion.
While I do not want to go into great detail on it, I will give some general information and some changes that will effect folks.
The new system will allow much more flexibility in what jewelry will be. Jewelers will make "mounts" and gems that players can buy. These mounts will be able to take 1 to 3 stones, depending upon which mount the jeweler makes. The gems will also have to be cut by the jeweler. Then any player can use an augment sealer to place the gems in the mounts. Each mount will focus the power of the gems to a different degree, depending upon the metal that the mount is made from, and if the mount is enchanted or not.
The Difficulty at which jewelry stops giving combines where all the parts can be purchased is stopping at about 200. The combines past 200 will require a drop of some sort.
Palladium will have an enchanted version, while the non enchanted palladium will not focus very well. Enchanters will be able to enchant the Palladium as they do other metals.
A new metal is being added that only enchanters can make by transmuting a special crystal with platinum, making a new metal infused with crystal. Enchanters will need to learn an AA in order to transmute this metal. It is a taxing process, so they will not be able to do it very quickly.
So if you are looking for a mostly vendor path for jewelry, go ahead and get it done before November!
