I'm trying to get some members of my guild into some basic tradeskilling, and I was wondering if you all could help me put together a tradeskill package guide. Here's what I have so far (in abbreviated version)
191 Baking in 1 day:
1. Get a fillet knife. This is a smithed item that requires 3 metal bits, a scalar mold, and a flask of water, combined in the forge.
2. In Thurgadin, go to Mordin's meats (the right passage as you go in). Buy lion and bear meat, combine one-at-a-time with the fillet knife till it tricials at 142
3. Go to JaggedPine, get lots of cheese (at the fort or the nicer gnoll caves for evils), go to Thurgadin, buy some bread from the innkeeper and more meat from Mordin, and make patty melts(one bread, one cheese, and one meat) to 191.
Cool items you can make from this level on: Ohabah Truffles, Halas Meat Pies, Holy Cake, Misty Thicket Picnics. All of these require camping, either of mammoth and wolf meat, mushrooms, or of brownie parts.
122 Smithing in 1 day:
1. Get lots of water flasks & sharpening stones from North Freeport (at the smithy shop by the bard guild).
2. In EFP, buy rusty shortswords and broadswords (from Resales). Then go to the forge by the armor shop, and sharpen them by combining each weapon with a sharpening stone. convert them into ore by combining the tarnished weapon with one flask of tater, make metal bits by combining two unstacked small pieces of ore with a flask of water, then make metal sheets by combining two small bricks of ore with a flask of water. Save your results.
3. Make dairy spoons by combining a scalar mold with two unstacked metal bits and a flask of water to 76, then make banded armor to 115.
4. Make embroidery needles to 122.
Nifty things you can make at this level: ornate chain, banded armor, various tools.
Pottery to 199 in 1 day:
1. Make jars to 41
2. Make medium bowls to 122
3. Make large bowls to 148
4. Make poisen vials to 188 (you'll need a lot of zombie skins to do this)
3. Make ceramic lining and casserole dishes to 199 (this can take a bit longer, due to necessary ingredient combines, but it is possible)
Nifty things you can make at this level: Opaline steins, cooking tools, ceramic bands, and thurgadin gate potions.
Brewing to 151 in a day:
Get a clops skull from SK, make Skull Ale by combining vinegar, spices, short beer, and your cyclops skull (always returned) to 151. You can find all the ingredients to this in Halas, fairly close to each other.
From there, the Faydwer shaker can get you to 185.
Nifty things you can make at this level: stat-buffing drinks, booze, any zone essence.
Fletching mastery in a day:
I don't really know. No guides are out there. Still, it looks pretty easy, you just make a LOT of arrows, gradually upgrading components as you go.
Nifty things you can make with fletching: arrows, bows, thurgadin quest items.
Jewelcraft mastery in a day:
Consult the below link:
http://www.valendor.org/gumkak/jewelcraft.asp
Get a jeweler's kit, plug in your present skill level, and see what to make next. This is a pricey tradeskill, but it's not that hard to do. This skill is mostly for enchanters and the occasional prayer shawl quester.
Fishing mastery in a day:
Train it up at guild? There's really no quick way to raise this; try to camp around areas with water, and fish during downtime.
Tailoring to (relative) mastery in a day:
1. Go to Thurg and buy mandrake. Make woven mandrake to 66, then picnic baskets to 76. From there, there's a LOT of farming involved.
