Well then within those guidelines how about creating something along the line of a researchable upgrade to the tomes that tanks can buy from tradeskill folks? Along the lines of the tinkered robo-boar kits. Either quest flag or AA purchase by the tank in combination with a PC research crafted upgrade to the tanks diciplines. We would be talking about increses of say 5 to 10 seconds max. Nothing too overpowering, but good enough to interest a tank looking to get the most perfomance from each click of the combat discipline key. If timing issues with the disc lines are too complex what about modifications to the endurance consumed. If casters can have items that reduce mana consumed why not tanks for endurance consumed. I personaly am all in favor of differentation between PC. I don't want to be warrior clone #534972-384. I don't want my PC to be judged only by what gear he is wearing. I would love another method to differentiate my main from the mass of other tanks.

    • I’ve had this idea in my head for a while. It’s not unique as I’ve seen a few others mention it here but I’ve got a bit larger scope in mind. It also addresses in my mind the part I hate most about tradeskills. Hitting that combine button all the time!

      It starts with a quest:

      Fordlesnap’s Assembly Line

Fordlesnap has been working many years on streamlining the manufacturing of items in Norrath. Until recently he was missing some technology and was unable to solve the problems himself. Oddly enough, it was when Meldrath started his experimenting with clockworks that the missing parts were created. Fordlesnap has a small working prototype but requires help in acquiring the items to make it a fully operational assembly line.

(Design notes: I’ve not spent the time to flush out all the steps of the quest but it would be a combination of collecting various items as well as making some combines. Collection for items Fordlesnap needs would come from the Plane of Innovation, The Fortress, The Guardian, and maybe even the S.H.I.P. To keep it open to all races the combines would be smithing, tailoring and brewing. Smithing you would be making beams, supports and cogs. Tailoring you would be making belts and pulley ropes. And in brewing you would be making oil for hydraulics and high density liquids for steam generation. These combines would all be in the 250 to 300 range with possibly one or two final combines in the 300+ range. All depends on balance and reward goals.)

Gnomish Automation: 3 ranks. 5, 10, 15 AA’s per rank. You must be 300 in the skill you are attempting to use.

Now that you have helped Fordlesnap, the gnomish mechanical secrets of automating the manufacturing process have been shared with you. Each rank increases the automatic repetition available to you when attempting combines in tradeskill containers. Rank 1 combines 5 items, Rank 2 combines 10 items and Rank 3 combines 20 items. Due to intricacies in high skill combines this AA will not work with combines with a required skill level over 300. All standard rules for success and failure still apply.

(Design notes: Three buttons (5, 10 and 20) would be added to the recipe container window under the title Automation. I don’t have access to the UI component right now but something along the lines of the 3 buttons found on the Leadership window. Each rank will attempt up to the combine level or until items are depleted. For example: Pressing the 20 button when you only have items for 17 combines will attempt the 17 combines. It will be up to the user to have enough room for the resulting items. While the player can get the quest and AA prior to any other tradeskill AA it will be useless until the player reaches 300 in the tradeskill they are attempting to use. Additionally, the quest to obtain the AA will require the player to be at least level 75.)

      • I think we've gotten a little carried away folks. The devs want stuff that's easy to code. So far the only things I've seen that would be easy to code are increased ranks of salvage and increasing the no-fail trivial maximum.

they dont care about how much code it takes.... this is from the first post of this thread.

We've been asked to put together a wish list of new AAs. So if you have any, please let me know, and I will compile a list and forward them on.

I'm not sure if Nodyin was looking for only "classes", but he cracked open the door, so I'll slip our ideas thru it as well.

Don't worry about whether the code can support it. Just be creative.

          • This isn't an AA, but I'd love to see...

An item that had 7 aug slots (new slot for this stuff) in it and no other stats.
Then you could take any lvl 6 or 7 trophy to our infamous bag to token person in Bazaar
she would give you back an aug that only had the +skill% MOD on it, and it fits in the new item with the 7 slots.

This way I could carry around all 7 trophies in one inventory slot, cause us TSers are already low on pack space since we keep stuff most other people just throw away.

Not a horrid thought, but in all fairness should have 9 slots available...

Any pure int caster, rogue, shaman or gnome has the potential for 8 tradeskill trophies. And the right class gnomes can have 9. (/flee) Add to that the possibility of a melee equivalent to research... Well, better to plan for expansion than build it gimp and be forced to change it later. Unless of course it's decided to limit this to only the common tradeskills.

Personally, I like KyrosKrane's idea regarding this topic as seen here, http://mboards.eqtraders.com/eq/show...67&postcount=5, which does nothing to save you space but allows you to not have to carry it, at least. Plus, should they ever decide to "improve" the trophies another level (or more) you aren't stuck starting over because you don't have a physical item anymore. Options, options, options...

              • Nolrog, any word?

Just curious if there is any feedback from the devs as to which, if any, of the ideas out there are getting serious consideration. No press, just curious if you get the chance.

                • This is a "what's my job?" thread. No one is looking for new AAs to add to the game right now. Possibly for inclusion in a future expansion but mostly to gauge what the community is interested in.

Like Roanne said, they are looking for ideas that could possibly make it into the game at some point. Ngreth has been great giving his feelings on some of the posts here, so if you read back, you can see which suggestions are definitely out and which could possibly be considered at some future point in time.

Also to spur some new ideas that may not have been considered before.

Not gonna happen anytime in the near future.

The current limit is 5, and is not changing anytime soon.

                            • could there be a quest for a container to combine your trophies in, resulting in an item with the added modifiers? like a super-trophy? maybe it only works on level 7 trophies and could be like the container to put together and seperate the war 1.0... that way if you decide to make a level 8 trophy, we could remove it for upgrade quest, then another container to combine all the level 8 trophies etc.

this might be easier than asking for a few more aug slots lol
