Just the RNG. Sometimes the points come really slow.Originally posted by Kemie Dreamshadow View PostI don't know if it is pertinent or not, but while my 75 druid's skill list now shows max forage as 250, I haven't purchased the new forage AA and with random foraging (when I'm not busy tradeskilling) her skill hasn't gone up at all yet.
So either the RNG is just being its customary nasty self, or you need to purchase the AA to actually see the skill increase?
Also, rangers did not get the extra 50 points (250 base) or at least not yet at level 77.

How about a forage revamp to give us an option for targeted foraging? e.g. slect a specific item you want to search for then RNG makes a roll to see if you find it.
Could possibly be a hybridized system where maybe you have to find one first under the original system to "learn" the "recipe" which then gives you the option to target search for it.Roanne LeFaye

Forage cap for foragers
Again:
Nonforager can buy the Forage AA, which gives them a skill cap of 50 in forage. It was mentioned on the SOE boards, that as soon as this would be implemented, all classes that already had that skill, would receive a skill cap increase of +50 for free!

My foraging skill is still 200 and the cap is the same. I have yet to buy the new forage AA. Got full Nature's Bounty. Not sure why anyone else should have 250 cap without buying the new AA.
I am checking out the foraging table today, and it looks kinda dismal for foragers. 23 forages so far, all no stats foods and drinks, rather useless for the level of toons running around the Loping Plains, right.
I'll try to get the forage AA and add the foraging machette and see what the difference is for 100 forages with modded skill.
I hope, I will find a good reason to update the foraging compendium again some day.Siega, half elf, The Seventh Hammer
One would think, that fish was part of Nature's Bounty...

That might be what is intended, but my ranger (note, this is a class that already has the skill) is still listed at 200/200, not 200/250. I have not purchased the new Forage AA yet.
The druid did however jump to 200/250 (when the expansion released, before buying AAs) and then to 209/300 (I had some skill ups before I bought the new AAs) and is now 239/300 (252/300 modified).

Half elf here, so it could be the racial thing. So wood elves do not need to buy the AA to get to 250?Siega, half elf, The Seventh Hammer

My ranger is human, and I considered that it might be the point, but wanted a confirmation from a racially appropriate ranger.Originally posted by Bobaten View PostWhat races are your characters Gorse, I wonder if the extra 50 pts some druids and rangers are seeing (me included) is coming from the racial 50 pts wood elves start with.
I can confirm this is a true statement for wood elf druids.Originally posted by Siega View PostHalf elf here, so it could be the racial thing. So wood elves do not need to buy the AA to get to 250?

My Wood Elf Druid had a skill level of 200 in Foraging and Nature's Bounty maxed before SoF. Post SoF, his skill was still 200, but the cap was 250. He purchased the General AA called "Foraging" which raised his cap to 300, but did not change his skill.
He has been doing a LOT of foraging in the interim and as of this writing has a skill of 250.
What annoys me though, is that when he equips his Foraging Machette, the modified skill is shown at just 252. If should be 275.

An Update
When my aforementioned druid hit a raw skill of 252, the Forage listing in the skills window no longer showed in green (as is the case when a skill-enhancing item is equipped) but instead turned white as if no modifier was present. When he hit 253 (indicated only by the skill-up message in the chat window, NOT by the Skills window), the Forage skill turned red and did not advance. I have gained a few more points (255 as of this writing), but the Forage skill in the Skills window still displays 252/300.

Did a bit of foraging (skill 201-207) in Dragonscale Hills, here is the result:
24 Prismatic Dust, Class: None, Race: None, Size: SMALL, Weight: 0.4 (not for tradeskills, can not be sold, can not even be eaten by your lvl 3 twink = junk that has no use other than filling up your inventory slots)
7 Prismatic Drake Scale, Class: None, Race: None, Size: SMALL, Weight: 0.5 (not for tradeskills, can not be sold, can not even be eaten by your lvl 3 twink = junk that has no use other than filling up your inventory slots)
5 Prismatic Rock, Class: None, Race: None, Size: SMALL, Weight: 1.0 (not for tradeskills, can not be sold, can not even be eaten by your lvl 3 twink = junk that has no use other than filling up your inventory slots)
18 Prismatic Roots, Class: ALL, Race: ALL, Size: SMALL, Weight: 1.0, This is a snack (not for tradeskills, can not be sold, ohhh, wait, it can be eaten by your lvl 3 twink = junk that you will likely still just have as a useless fill-up of your inventory)
And then the traditional oldies:
22 Fishing Grubs
74 Pod of Water
17 Rabbit Meat
40 Roots (so if your lvl 3 twink gets tired of Prismatic roots...)
41 Vegetables
29 Berries
23 Fruit
Is the Prismatic rock and prismatic drake scale supposed to be the rares? Then why are they not used for anything at all according to their lack of snack, quest or tradeskill tag?
Or is there a rare I missed in 300 forages, which I would only get at skill 250 maybe with the foraging machette as help?
Here is an idea:
Dragonscale Prismatic Salt: Combine Prismatic Rock, Prismatic Drake Scale, 2 Prismatic Dust, 2 Prismatic Roots in a Mortar and Pestle
Dragonscale Rabbit Stew: Combine Dragonscale Mystery Salt, Rabbit Meat, Vegetables, Roots, Pod of Water, Fruit, Berries, Pot in an oven. Throw it on the middle baking skilltable somewhere usefull for skilling up, add whatever stats fits, for instance +20 to foraging /muahahaha´
Just kidding, but is there a usefull rare in Dragonscale Hills?Siega, half elf, The Seventh Hammer
