Though that did involve tradeskills, it was never about tradeskills for everyone. It was never meant to be a "skillpath". It was a quest for Vah Shir, and anyone that wanted to put forth the effort. Players just decided to use it as a skillpath. Admittedly it may have been one of the better paths.

As such, I have no plans of taking that quest away, as I feel it is integral to the Vah Shir story. I just now hope people use other things as a skillpath, just do that ONCE as the quest it is intended to be, and stop annoying me about the lack of stacking on the items! Being a QUEST were often things do not stack, and only doing it ONCE... the stacking thing should no longer be a big deal

Cobalt ore and superb silk dropping already on live servers? Did I miss something about when this would go in game? Or did it sneak in with the LoN weekend by accident? Or was the LoN weekend patch at the end of September the planned release? I had assumed it was the 10/3 patch.. but maybe not.

Yeah, the drops started dropping after 2pm pdt on live. I assume the recipes are not in yet though.

Likely with the change to LoN drop rate, other global drop changes got pushed live as well.

The little fellows in POK are still selling the old books with the old recipes. I assume that the new ones are not in game yet or these would be changed.

I think Eleena's spot on - and I guess it proves the system really can be turned on (and off) without server or zone downtime.

If that's the case, start grabbing all the soluble loam you can get your hands on. I never did find out what the corresponding piece is for tailoring.

FWIW, none of cobalt ore, tungsten ore, superb silk and soluble loam are appearing in the /buyer window (curses!) yet, although all have been linked to me on friday by various people.

I don't think they are actually going to sell them at those prices, drops are actually pretty decent as they are right now. Eight hours of play, which was two Katta faction missions and six hours in "The Nest", yielded 25 colbalt ores and 37 suberb silks.

And I checked our bazaar after seeing your post, 2 people selling Cobalt, 45k and 50k per ore.

                        We already knew that

I've seen several loams on CT for 90p each, obviously someone who knew what they were , snapped them up right off.

Still havnt seen / dont know what these "sketches" are. But I picked up several different types of Ore and Loam yesterday as well as silks and hides.

Ya - I've seen Tungsten Ore selling for 5k and 6k. (Mind you, this is just the skill-up stuff, doesn't make anything. . . . ) It has a tradeskill tag, slap on a silly price!

Meanwhile Sunshard Ore, perfectly capable of getting folks to 300, still goes for 700-900pp. Will be interesting to watch bazaar over the next month.

                          • The stuff is too common to stay at those prices. Give it a little time and the price on ore will plummet. Not sure where the loam will settle, but I'm guessing it will be below what Metallic Drake Scales were.

                            • I think the prices will quickly plummet...

Especially if people refuse to pay it, and go get it. It should be easy enough to go get... and what do you know... because of the LoN patch... yeah, the drops went in early. So... Enjoy and stockpile at your whim.

I did not plan on the drops starting early, but I also knew it was a possibility because of the lack of "versioning" in much of our system, so I am also not upset about it, nor do I believe that it deserves any type of "re-patching" It can just be

For elaborate armor, it appears that the drops to keep are:

Plate or Chain = Cobalt ore/Soluble Loam
Leather = Superb animal pelt/Excellent Marrow
Silk = Superb silk/Superb Spinneret fluid
