They have not blocked the ability to learn templates. The ability to learn armor is restricted to require the scribing the book to learn the recipe.

    • Ngreth, have the cutting sickles been reduced down yet or can we still grind up to 300 on them till the next full patch? The ore farming takes much longer than expected. I'm 272 now, with sickles I could be 300 in a days time, if they still work.

      • Check your recipes - that'll tell you the trivial.

Change for the sickle (and inferno scepter) will go in Tuesday. Additionally the smithing trophy will have its 6-7 exp amount required reduced.

Will this only affect the level 6 to 7 progression of the smithing trophy or all levels?

What will happen to people who currently have a level 6 partially evolved trophy?

it is exactly what I said, the 6-7 level

partially evolved people will get a bonus.

              • Sweet.

I haven't put much effort into full trophy evolution beecause I have 15% mod from Hammer of the Ironfrost. Perhaps this freebie boost in level 6 evolution will inspire me to finally finish it off ~

I truly have no clue. My three primary toons are plate and chain wearers. I have had no reason to look for any such critter, nor have any intention to do so. LOL So, if there are no cultural looms, and only cultural sewing kits exist, then I humbly stand corrected.

                  • To the best of my knowledge, no cultural looms exist, only sewing kits. The closest thing would be the Tanaan looms, in PoK, but those are usable by anyone.

                    • There are "cultural" looms I believe, but they're not REQUIRED to make anything. I think you DO need a cultural sewing kit (or the loom in your hometown) to do final combines on cultural tailored armors though.

I hate Cresent Reach - but probably more due to lack of familiarity and the fairly high LAGGY level there over anything else. The "get to 54 tradeskill quests" are all still available in Abysmal though, so that's not a big deal to me.
