The only thing I have found that I don't like is that when I went to buy my books from the Merch in PoK, I can't get the GM level book. I had it from the old system and with Mastery 3 and Salvage 3 have been able to make GM gear for myself. So do I have to do another quest once my Smithing gets higher, and how high would it have to be now?

Ok thanksOriginally posted by Tattedsoul_Zek View PostShaman AA illusion "Pact of the wolf" listed under class aa's.
I did find the bug here. It is currently "harmless" bug. And it was my fault. I forgot that with the GM flag NPC's do not "return" items they do not need... so when I saw it eat the book, I added this script check to give you the book back... and put in some bad item ID's. But really, I did not need that part at all because it is not necessary, because non-gm's get the book returned to them anyway.
I did add some text though, so if you do not match the NPC's race, he will say why he is not taking the book. And Werewolf race != Barbarian Race.
I am not sure exactly when this will go in, but in the meantime the bug that is there is harmless.

Congrats. 20 sentinal kills, TWO impressions. /cryOriginally posted by Tattedsoul_Zek View PostHeh, 20/20 strong sentinals, 5/5 impressions......Than I got to flameweave menders, 10/10 and 1/2 impressions. Killed about 23 flameweavers total and can't seem to get that 2nd impression. I don't think they like me =(. Hey though the full day and a half there I got my war and shammy 15 aa's each
Took 4 trips (so far). Got some bored guild members to help over the weekend and my last 5 kills there and that result. So I still have to drag them back.
Then... 60 combines in baking at 276ish and 60 combines in pottery at similar range with one baking skillup.

Actually, I rather suspect that the same thing was screwing up the "Impressions" part of the Sacred impressions quest on my shaman - could you check that too? (Shaman in Pact form wasn't getting impressions even though 3 others in same group with the same task were - I was 4-boxing).Originally posted by Ngreth Thergn View PostOk thanks

That step does not check race at all. It only checks that you have the book on you. Illusions will not affect this.
Now a shroud may. Shrouds do not have normal inventories and I have little ways to properly check a shrouds inventory. I think it works in shrouds, but I do know shrouds were a PITA for Caerlenya in the bazaar.
I am willing to look though.
What specific spell/AA were you using please? so many spells and AA's int he game that I do not know them all by abbreviations/short names... and sometimes the abbreviations mean one thing to one class and another to another class.

Question about 'a flameweave mender' for the Eminent Book of XYZ Culture quest
I don't know if the cultural symbol quests are supposed to be soloable by players of the appropriate level for the symbol or not. I had no problem with 'a strong sentinel' on Thundercrest Isles (which probably took me 12 to 18 hours solo of medium effort and about 27 strong sentinel kills with the book in the bank for the first five). Flush with warmth from my initial progress in the quest, I was hoping 'a flameweave mender' in The Accursed Nest would be also soloable. I read this thread, and it seemed as though some had duo'd it, and it was unclear, but one person seemed to have solo'd it. After my first try at it, realistically I don't see myself soloing the rest of the quest at this point. (Ranger, Level 75, 1175 aa, 14,105 hp, 2770 AC self buffed. Hardly a noob, but not uber in todays environment.) I went into the non instanced version of the nest, west through the big room, then south to the room with the river of lava and a bridge across it. There were a bunch of see invis on the other side of the bridge. At which point I could not progress any further due to my rapid death in sizing the situation up. I am kind of pessimistic about further progression solo in this quest. My questions are: Did I go to the wrong place? Do I need to get a group for something that may be hot amongst the EQ Trader readers, but pretty boring to many eq players and in a nearly dead zone (as in really hard to find a group given these two issues)?

you were in the right area for flameweave menders. sadly there are not a ton of place holders for them to spawn. 3 to 5 or 6ish in each big room like that. some along the paths leading to the rooms.
when i did it, i either botted a cleric or had a druid friend come along. the mobs aren't hard, its just the amount of them. by the time it takes someone to single pull them all, you've already got mobs respawning on you.
i started my necros cultural symbol quest a week or so ago, and there it was...sentinels and flameweave menders lol. wish i would have gotten the quest when i did it the first time with my warrior.
what i'd do if i were you is go down to the first bridge, cross it, take a left at first intersection. head on down and eventually you'll see a path on the right that leads to a big room. i eventually gave up on the "crawl method" and just camped this spot and had more luck on spawns.

It's a Shaman AA, "Pact of the Wolf" - there's 2 listed on Kumbaja's parser but I think this is the one that was used:Originally posted by Ngreth Thergn View PostWhat specific spell/AA were you using please? so many spells and AA's int he game that I do not know them all by abbreviations/short names... and sometimes the abbreviations mean one thing to one class and another to another class.
