I think you are confused Strokker. If you do not mind being KoS to a faction in Seru, then you can do the task, no problem. If you want to maintain a non-KoS status with this faction, then additional faction work would be needed or an alternative mob selection would be needed for the quest.

      • Good to know the quest will be changing very soon, I dumped Vah Shir GM quest long ago because it was hard getting group for instanced stillmoon for the kirin loot section.

I wish I could check it out on the test but for some reason testeq blows for me. On my Main, there are 2 different versions of test eq program. One tries to download a very buggy launchpad that then tries to download the netire EQ files into C:\program files when I have EQ installed on E drive. The other version does work fine until I click play at the server selection screen, then it bombs out before I can see loading screen.

On my second PC, only the launchpad version will start at all but the second PC has only 5MB on C drive and the program burns up trying to download 5GB worth of files onto 1/100th of the available space.

        • Test Server does use the Station Launchpad it I am afraid will be the future for EQ, this being said you can interrupt it and cancel the download and play the game, at least that is what I had to do.

          • Seru/Katta both hate Iksar no matter what. lol ever try to get good with any of them as a lizard.. it really isn't my cup of tea, and I enjoyed getting faction for Grobb, Paineel, Neriak etc.

After many vampires I just gave up on Katta and use my level 8 Kitty bard to buy things there for me. It's a fun run lol. Seru? Katta? I help a lot of people are shard runs and the fabled seru sword will keep my guild killing him I am sure each year even for the look of it.

Some old guides on this website even mention three groups:

            Good, Evil and Iksar

We are still a group ourselves, and I like it that way. It's funny to talk to the Dark Elf in Katta and how he talks about this being a place for ALL races to come rofl , hypocrisy! I sincerely hope we are still on our own. I waited with a high level in smithing, waiting for years knowing, hoping my skills would be worth it one day. That day I hope has not come and gone.

For some of us, ANY negative faction hits with a faction inside a city is a problem. My tailoring character, a halfling druid, is also my factioneer. He has good faction with most groups in nearly all starting cities (including Oggok, Neriak, and even Cabilis) and he's made a scrupulous effort to maintain his good faction inside Sanctus Seru. Are the factions able to be repaired? Well, yeah, but it's not as easy as it is to destroy your factions in there, not by a long shot. For each kill of a mob inside a city, you might need to kill as many as 10 to 20 mobs from outside it. If killing 40 mobs inside that city for the quest means I really wind up having to kill 200 or so in there (because of adds) repairing the factions might then take weeks of mindnumbing killing on mobs that drop nothing useful and give no other real benefit.

If the halfling cultural tailoring quests for a useful level of armor require something like this, I'll be very, very grumpy.

              • Unk if youe Halfling happens to be a Druid you might just be real Grumpy one of the quest that will it seems lowers bothe Heart of Seru and Seru which might be two of the leading factions we have to deal with this quest being the rare plants in Katta castelum for the forageing machette, well this will effect also Bards and Rangers too. I always hoped Seru would be utilized more and now it seems it will but I am afraid we will all have a long row to hoe on this one.

                • This may seem off path again, but.....

Has any thought went in to the Chronal Stone aug path? They're not bad augs, but, due to the fact that they use the same components as the much happier bazu augs, etc the end return on the Chronals is..... well.... feeble.

With the push toward 80, and the higher tiers of gear, I'm almost expecting a new tier of augs, too. Mostly because the effects from the 70's tier do not cover 80's spell ranges. Which will further devalue the Chronal. And likely push the Discordant off the bottom too.

I recently had a chance at a rotting <yes rotting> Chronal Stone. On a giggle, cause I can get the AAAA at metal cost, I went ahead and wasted the AAAA and instructions on the Chronal stone. Woo. Improved Dodge 1. Still better than the DoN aug that was 25 hp / mana / end +1 mana regen. Barely. Barely.

If there was a less material using alternative to the AAAA, I'd expect to see a few more of the Chronal stones actually getting used. Heck, gnomes are strange about efficiency. Maybe they've found a container that is less stress rigorous than what the AAAA needs to be. =p

                  • **IF** I have time I will be making cheaper Chronal / Discordant path.

That is a big if in there as I am at least a week behind at this point.

But IF this time becomes available I will also be making the ones beyond Last Blood more expensive.

                    • In my opinion, Chronals and Discordants are almost certainly dead except for minor HP usage -- the spell focus effects are obsolete at 75, and even the melee focus effects are almost all weaker than the OoW augs. (In the case of Improved Dodge, for melee and hybrids there's a cursor reward from SD4 normal difficulty that is an Improved Dodge III aug).

Additionally, the mechanoinstructions needed for all types of these augs are pretty expensive as well - most of the melee type mechanonistructions on AB at the moment are 40kpp or more.

So, unless the Chronal and Discordant stones did not use up the Mechanoinstructions either, it probably really isn't worth spending much time on this.

A possible suggestion - add another item to the recipe - tinkered or otherwise - eg Discordant Resonator. Let the Seal and the raid drop be consumed, along with the Resonator, but return the AAAA, Mechanoinstructions and the Discordant/Chronal seal of XYZ.

(The in-game reason could be that that some cleverer non-clockwork gnome has worked out a way to focus the power of the Discordant/Chronal item into the Seal without consuming the Instructions or Amalgamator, but that Bazu/Last Blood/etc are too powerful for this).

                      • The problem with alot of the OoW augs, is that even though they may be type 12's, unless you want to pay a fairly hideous amount of pp, there's none that will go in a type 12 armor slot. AKA, 90pct or more of the OoW augs will run you almost as much as an AAAA, will go in a type 7 or 8 slot, and have just a couple of effects.

Far as I know, Tourmaline, and Sodalite are the only 2 that will go in any type 12 armor slots. Mana regen and Mana / Endurance. The rest of the oow augs eat a normal gear slot to use them.

Yeah, you can get some nice effects out of the OoW augs. If you want to sacrifice an aug slot.

I'll have to look in to that aug you were talking about. See if I can find it. ID3 would be nice for our puller druid to have. If its the reward for melee, alas, it does me not quite as much good.

                        • Kyanite (hp) and Titanite (hp regen) will also fit in type 12 slots on cultural armors. There are also a number of DoN augs purchased with crystals that will fit in type 12.

                          • Discordant seal of healing is definitely worth getting on an alt =P Its arguably better than the last blood version due to a snafu about the paladin epic focus being put on it (and epic focii getting upgraded to 75).

                            • What will happen to teh Inferno scepter?
And im sorta divided since you are planning on calling the expert armor ornate since there is such a large amount of stuff named ornate. PoP ornate for one. They are already called chain ornate and all.

Will you be changing the old names. cosnider changing the ornate name on the new stuff to something different or just add them with ornate as planned and add to the mix ?

                              • The name changes for the DoN cultural armor have already gone in. They went in back in May I think it was. While several things in game have the word ornate in them. I do not see this as a big issue as the racial/cultural identification of the items clearly distinguish them and the ornate is a modifier to show its level.
