Well, you can do the Drachnid Silk tailoring up to 220ish. (Iksar have both a Hides path and a Silks path, and Drachnid Silk is waaaay easier to get than the Excellent Sabertooth Hides, although this swaps over when Master is reached - a VP-keyed soloer can clean up on the Great Reptile Hides compared to the rarity of Ice Burrower silks).

The drops will be as common as the level range of the mobs that are being killed at a particular point in time, *if* they are global loot table drops, and *if* they are dropped by level range (as per the Sunshard "experiment").
All classes will suffer or rejoice as a result, which will be dependant on the number and frequency of a particular level range of mobs being killed as opposed to item rarity.
At least that's the way I understand it to be....

Could just end up with it being a rarish drop for everyone.
2. There is a chance for every mob within range (assumption) to drop it off of its loot table, even for those classes who can solo.
Thus, far better chance of them dropping, which means more being available.

I'm guessing, and it's just a guess, the skillup item drop rates will be comparable to Sunshard drops. The final item drops will be rarer, I imagine, to restore some prestige to the armors.Sir KyrosKrane Sylvanblade

None of that, without knowing what the percentage chance of a drop is, indicated that it wont still be a fairly rare drop. Look at it this way... at least for skillup purposes under the old system you had a chance to farm intricate level armor parts to be able to skill up. Its viturally impossible to "farm" sunshard because the drop rate is set so low with a goal of getting 1 or 2 per hour (if I remember the info on the other thread correctly, appologies if Im off) and rng can still bite you. Thats not making it more common.... thats bringing every race to the rare rate PLUS everyone skilling up will be competing for the same drops in the baz.

Well, with my experience in the bazaar, prices for sunshard ore are around typically 1/100 that of coarse spider silk, or even less. Coarse spider silk the other day if you can even find it, 20k . . . sunshard ore, 100-200pp in buyer . . . 1k in trader (almost 20 for sale).
I also thought I read the skill-up bonus would be maintained.
BTW Ngreth, is the patch this week contain the patch we're discussing? I'm still a little jumpy and lack the time to study the boards like I used to. Thanks!

Had not even heard of a patch this week...
If there is one, I think it is code only, mostly to work in some of the fizzle changes. At least that is what I heard the next patch is going to be.
But no. No cultural changes in.Ngreth Thergn

If a person cannot farm a 1 in 7 drop then I don't know how that person can call themselves a farmer. Sure the stuff is not falling from trees... but it is farm-able.
I also stated that the drops for the cultural itself will be rare, yet in some cases more common than the current drops for ones that were overly rare. At this time I am not giving out those numbers.Ngreth Thergn

Are the stats on the cultural armor going to change? Since TBS came out and the "ally" armor, many of my friends are reporting almost 0 sales. The armor is just not as attractive anymore... ya ya, many expansions old, new expansions have better.
But if you are going to the pita to change the recipies to make them more even in farming status, how about making the final produt more attractive to the general population.Shadyn Stormsurge

Dang, 0 sales? That bites the big one! Since the upcoming changes announcement, my sales on Human GM plate and chain armors have actually increased. I've sold 6 complete sets of plate and 3 sets of chain, on top of many misc pieces of elaborate and intricate.
