  • sell back?

ok another question will items be given some vendor value for those of us doing skillups? I am not looking for ton of plat for items but when you are makeing wristbands and other items for skillups would be nice too get thread value or some amount back too help offset skillups. not sure if this was intentionally done by sony but just checking.

Actually, while that would certainly be nice I'd even settle for the ability to use these items for tribute and guild tribute since that alone would help to justify the costs of producing dozens or hundreds of items for which there is often no significant market in the bazaar. I'm not actually sure how many pieces of master's DON gear I made and subsequently destroyed while capping off my tinker's skill at 300, but I winced every time I clicked the "destroy" button.

      • book counts

As i was burning up DON parts, i ran across another wish item, and that is to provide a count of usages of the books (into patterns) that occured. There is no way i remember how many times i have created patterns from the books in the bank. I know you can convert the book 10 times and stack everything, but i use the patterns in different stages and dont want to convert the entire book. (this sorta goes back to have tons of NO DROP patterns in the bank, where to store them all? an pattern/mold DON ARTISAN BAG!!! :-).

Actually we are planing on doing both (I may have to go back and tweek some of it before I release it)

We plan on having the "templates" that one makes (which are planned as the main skillup path for tailoring/smithing) to be able to be sold back for "merchant greed" loss. I.E. I set the price on them to be the same as the cost to make in the Database. This cost in the Database does not reflect merchant greed of about 5% (both ways with best charisma and faction) when you buy and sell, so it will be about a 10% loss. We feel this is a reasonable amount of "cost" to gain skill. I will have to speak with maddoc to be sure, but I believe we went with no tribute value to these because they have "little use" to a city.

Conversely. The actual DoN cultural will continue to have ZERO cash value to NPC vendors, but we plan on putting an equivalent Tribute value on them so that they can be tributed.

In this way we cement the cultural as something of "special" value only to other players, and possibly as tribute to your "culture" (home city).

Now if only Merloc could get around to adding tribute values to recent droppable gear (think it's por and beyond that has the loot that doesn't have any tribute value)

            • Crushed Diamond Dust

Will Crushed Diamond Dust be used with the new cultural?

I've accumulated more than I can combine in what time is left, and with its availability from all zones, thought it might carry over. Hate to part with it if I don't have to.

Guess I remember incorrectly, but I thought the problem with tribute on the don stuff was that they were attunable, and thus couldn't be assigned a tribute value.

                    .
why is it little use too home town too outfit old and new warrior in town with armor? going the role playing path someone in town would have too make armor for the hometown armies too defend the city? why not include armor made by players to tribute too outfit the cities defenders? new and old defenders? just my 2 cents not trying too start a fight or anything just thought this made sense~

                      • I know there have been alot of questions posted here, but I have not seen one asking about cutlural sewing kits and cultural forages.

I imagine that this revamp will still require those. There's no portable cultural forge, so no need to make one. However, since the cultural sewing kits are potrable, and player made, I was wondering of any changes would be made there. Either in the method of making those kits, or the stats of the kits after this revamp?

And Ngreth, thanks for your availibity. It truly does mean alot to us!

because the templates are not wearable armor. They are not interested in something partially done.

I will recheck, but I think it ends up being more of a "policy" than an actual code based limitation.

If this is true, then we are just making an exception to policy.

                              • templates?

was referring too finished armor, are these templates the patterns or something new? so the finished armor is going too be tributeable in home towns?
