evolving tradeskill trophy problems

my base un mod skill is 300 smithing

ok, maybe im doing something wrong

1) hammer of the ironfrost in main hand (+15% mod)
2) lv 6 smithing trophy in off hand (+12%, evolved 0%)

did a bunch(just over 100) of combines master and grandmaster combines and gm augs

smithing trophy is still at 0% evolved

is the ironfrost screwing with things since the items were trivial with it equiped?

At 300 smithing, with Hammer of the Ironfrost in main hand, Level 6 trophy at 0%exp in the off hand, I did 10 combines of Grandmaster's Tyrant Sleeves and the trophy evolved 1%.

so I was not able to duplicate the problem. I would be sure that on the evolution tab you are set to evolve.

I did this test on a live server.

My JC trophy is having problems too. My skill is 300, me expert trophy is at 86%. Did 2 combines of half-moon cut prestidigitais(sp)which has a trivial of 351 and it evolved 2%. Since I'm ahead of my trophy, i thought it'd evolve 11% each combine.

Nope. It will evolve 11 times as fast as it would if you were the same level (generally around 1% per 10-11 combines...), so 2% in 2 combines sounds about right.

my trophy hit master 2% before I hit 300, now that I'm 300 I've done somewhere between 50 and 100 combines and it's STILL sitting at 0%...

how many freaking combines does it take for a % or is it broke? lord knows my GM brewing trophy didn't take this freaking many to budge... but then brewing was maxed when I got the trophy... is that it?

Did you do 50-100 combines AFTER you hit 300? Or before? If before, that's why...once your trophy outlevels you, it stops gaining until you catch up.

And the other standard question: Did you lose/destroy your trophy and get it replaced by a GM?

I wonder how many mules I have left to fill up w/ sickles... lol

Do not get it replaced by a gm.

I don't know guys. folks with problems are doing something wrong. I have 100% not been able to reproduce a trophy not gaining skill. I have spent over time probably two days that could have been spent on better things trying to reproduce the trophy not gaining skill and 100% of the time it has gained skill when it should.

Are you sure your BASE skill is 300... or has your trophy adjusted you to 300?

Ignore what EQPlayers says about you. I have looked at my characters on EQ Players and there is more that is incorrect on any of my chars than is correct.

The only way to be sure that your BASE skill has reached 300 is to check it 'in game'. You could open an appropriate TS container, or you could open your inventory window and select the skills window, and in either case - un-wield your trophy.

I wouldn't trust any other method of being sure of my base skill in anything.

I'm just a little frustrated. My druid hit 300 tailoring recently, and her expert's trophy was only at 60-something percent. I've since done quite a few combines of old cultural, master's bp/legs and some GM items, and it seems to be gaining at 1% per combine. Frustrating, since it will take about 25 combines to get to master's level, and from experience on my chanter, the master's one takes about 4 combines per %. So the combines that I have to do to get it to master's level could have got it about 6% of the master's trophy

For this very reason, on one of my trophies, I redid the quest. It was faster/easier than doing catch-up combines since there did not exist any store-bought combines to use as catch-up combines.

for once EQ Players is correct since I did the update as SOON as I hit 300 lol

still haven't been able to force myself into making up the stuff for a run at sickle combines yet... will report back after I do if my trophy finally gains some exp...

will try to get around to it this week and attack the forge again this weekend...

what's the typical # of combines before it actually shows a %?
